Personally, I think that removing them was a bad idea.

How am I supposed to water my plants? I will have to press the water out of 150 leaves to water 5 plants. Wish me luck.

Use the 'pick up' key. It's found under options in Controls (2). It will pick up any finished\refined items.


I may be new to that game, but I'm not *that* stupid. They are caught up in there. I can't pick them up. How am I supposed to use the pick up key, if I cant pick the darn thing up?

Can I ask you guys for the fully-patched version of the game? Or at least the version that mr. Builder is using? I guess he is the boss here.

I was playing this game today for 2 hours, I have encountered a bamboo bush. It was no use, except for the hut! what a waste of a good bush.

I think that we should be able to make a bamboo spear, and some other things. If you could just show me an application, that can edit the .d3d files in Str 2 (you know what I mean, right?), I could try to get it done.

And, why can I shoot teeth from a slingsot, but i can't shoot bolts? Can somebody make bolts compatible with the slingshot? It can become a nice lil' weapon.

And who did invent, that berries can be ammo too? I have to cycle through the ammo to swap ammo from berries to pebbles for example, and I lose precious time. The parrot flies away, and I end up runnin back to my house to eat something.

Oh, and the last thing - you know, that a net deals no damage, right? So there is my "friend", who is using the net to get eggs from nests. He gets infinite amount of eggs, because the nest is not taking damage. You can fix it if you want.

I cant say that for sure as i have not tried the mod
And it is also said bamboo has no more use other than making the hut
As for using bolts as ammo you are wrong
bolt are of a size of a branch
so it would be idiocracy to throw or "waste" a good bolt with a sling shot
and teeth are small....very SMALL than a bolt
so i counted it all correct

MM isn't like normal Stranded. If you can't support plants then guess what? Don't plant them. Live off meat, fish, ect. Pick berries off bushes and crush them to make drinks. Use leaves to make water. Until you can build troughs\water rocks\ect and have a good supply of water, don't even TRY to plant things. Although, I should note that if you plant your bushes close together the 'watering' feature should hit ~4 of them at a time if you stand between all of them.

Now I'm just sighing with disappointment and /facepalming. The 'pick up' key isn't your use key. It's a key I specifically scripted to help people who had food\metal fall through the grill\forge. A simple way to check if you had it (one you obviously didn't bother to do) would be to start up Stranded, look in Options, click the Controls (2) tab (ie; NEW CONTROLS) and see if there is a key marked as 'Pick Up'. It grabs all finished\refined items within a radius of 50 units. No line of sight required. Doesn't matter where the items are in that radius.

Bolts = crossbow bolts. Have fun trying to shoot those out of a slingshot.

Yes, you have already told me that.

And in my three week life on the island ( that was suddently ended by a lion), there was maybe one rain. That's annoying.

The aeries exploit has been fixed. Sharks aren't so easy to fix. I'll work on it though.

The point of building water troughs is to collect water when it *does* rain. If you had been building water troughs for those three weeks you would have had enough water to fill tons of clay bottles. Especially since you could fill the bottles, wait for the rain to refill the troughs, and keep filling the bottles until the day changes and the rain stops.

2. Yes, I will, if you can make a convincing argument for why I should add in an INFINITE SOURCE OF WATER that completely removes the need for a thirst bar. I'll add in other sources of water (currently working on distillation and underwater reservoirs) but I will not add in infinite water.

... /facepalm No, evidently, you aren't. And you don't seem to understand this. In the new version of MM there is a new feature called the 'pick up key'. It picks up all finished\refined items in a radius of 50 units around you *without* line of sight. I made it specifically to help people who had stuff fall through the grill or forge. It is *NOT* the default S2 'use' key (which picks up a single item within your crosshairs).

I don't understand what your problem is. If you actually are using the pick up key that I coded (ie; the one under Controls(2) in options, I think it's set to the 'U' key by default) and it isn't picking up the items then here is why:
They aren't finished or refined.

If you've got raw meat stuck under the grill, turn the fire on and let them cook. Then use the pick up key to grab the cooked meat.

If you've got metal ore in the forge, turn the forge on, let it turn red hot, and then let it cool down to soft metal. Then use the pick up to grab the soft metal.

If you've got soft tools in the forge, turn the forge on, let them turn red hot, and then douse it with water from the clay bucket to harden them. Then use the pick up key to grab the hardened tools.

Ect. The items must be finished or refined.

btw builder, any plans to change something with handles for spears / tools?

its bit strange that i have to cut whole tree to make 2-3 spears which are 1 use only :S

for example in last island in adventure mode there are no feathers around to make arrows (this can be a pain as well). there are plenty of lions and sling is not really useful. so to kill a lion i have to cut a tree or two.

crossbow is another solution since there is gold / iron in safe spot (although i still have to find proper combination).

but what should someone w/o feathers and iron around do? cut whole forest to gear himself?

anyway what i propose is to have 1 log being turned into 5 small handles and 3 long handles or something around that.

or maybe go back to when spears could be made from branches? and just reduce their damage

The items behave like they arent there. They just look like they arre, but I cant pick'em up, or smash 'em. I have even blown the whole forge up with the explosive barrel (God, forgive me for this cheat...), but items were still there, in the air.

But it's rare - two hard irons in the forge, and a burned piece of charcoal that was a fish once(in the campfire).

Ok, now we are getting somewhere. The pick up doesn't work with charcoal (that's a bug, fixing it now). However it should have picked up the hard iron ore. Send me your save game if you still have it, I want to see the 'ghost' items.

Just when I have downloaded the game you've sent me and deleted the previous one.

In this "your" game, the food is going through the grill. But the "u" button works just fine. I'm gonna get the forge, and see if the strange bug wil appear in this "version" as well.

And I agree with procne - the spears are really hard to make.

I mean... To cut down a tree, I need an axe. But to make an axe, I need to cut down the tree.

Or, well, I have to try my chances with my bare hands.

I've got an idea - why don't we add buried treasures on random islands? We'd get the map after building some kinda building, and we'd be able to dig out some treasures.

Actually, to make an axe you just need to find a log. Logs are randomly placed across the island on start and have a high chance to spawn along the shore on:changeday.

Besides, why not make more items? I still think, that we can fill this game world with a whole lot of items. For example, clothes. Why not use skins to get more protection or something? Why not boil water, make hot coffees and eat sandwiches with some butter, tomato and ham? Or add more types of animals, for example dogs? Or use the items, that have no purpose? There's this bloodleaf, which cant be used or eaten. Or a pearl. Or a starfish. Why would I name a starfish Patrick, and throw it at an ape straight after?

Is there anything I can do to help with improving the game?
