For realism? I see no point in removing the pointer.
In what way does it need to be removed?

Is it in this way - Edit "pointer.bmp" making it all "purple" as in transparent. And there you go, you removed the pointer.

Or as in this way - Program it into CS2D... (I don't know how this could happen)

But perhaps a option that automaticly turns the graphic on and off for specific weapons, like the awp. Then there you go, you have your pointer off for the specific weapon like the awp. While everyone else who wants it on, has it on. I kinda lol'd.

But is that what you ment?

LMAO! sorry but having no pointer is a pretty stupid idea for cs2d. It works for 3d because there your "pointer" is always in the middle of the screen. But in cs2d you can move your mouse over the whole screen. It would be just pretty confusing and unplayable without a visible pointer. So I'm not going to realize this idea.

The thing I'm looking forward to in CS2D max is the map transfer and spray transfer. Can't wait!

And hey, why does the smiley have that "> after it?
Is it just the browser? I don't know.

but of course, the snipers will have the zoom-mode...

i agree with marcio, snipers shouldnt have a pointer without zoom but they should make more damage without zoom too.

but i would generally say that there has to be done lots of work about the weapon balance, because in cs2d the awp kills with one shot like in cs 1.6 but weapons like m4a1 and ak47 take often more than half a magazin to kill someone unlike in cs 1.6

Anyway, I saw a tactical shield in on of DC's videos on YouTube and I would like to talk about that. How does it work or how will it work?

Yea that'd be crazy.

This is how I look at it...

It will deflect bullets from a specific direction or something like that. Or maybe it will have a fully bullet proof deflect, no matter where the bullets comes from, but at the same time it disables the player to do "something" don't know what yet.

I think the tactical should have the same like two options that is used on the usp (silencer) for example. A two click option. I'm thinking, when using the tactical shield when clicked the left mouse-button it will deflect the bullets, and when released it will go back to normal. But when clicking the right mouse-button it should be like allowing or perhaps disabling the player's gun or something.

Any ideas?

It would look like a tactical shield simply.. your holding a tactical shield infront of you and bullets cant hit infront of you, but you are still vulnerable from left right and behind sides! I'd say make animation sprites when bullets hit your tactical shield infront then it would bounce off with bouncing sounds. also would slow you a bit down if alot of bullets hit your shield.

uhmm okay, some shield-facts (even if I know that you'll not like to hear some of them). I'm starting with the (probably) worst thing:

• you will not be able to use the shield in combination with any other weapons. no shield + pistol combo. of course you can also carry a pistol but you have to switch your weapon to use it. so you have either the shield or the pistol in your hand, not both at the same time. MAYBE I'll change this in a later update but it will be as I explained in the first release.

• the shield protects you (and your teammates behind you) completely against all attacks with firearms from the front (yes, even ak and awp). in fact thats all it does. no reflection or something (but you hear a metal sound and see impact-"light" if it is hit)

• you are still vulnerable if someone attacks you from the side or from behind you or if he is just VERY close (if he already overlaps you)

• grenades/explosions do full damage even if you have a shield

• there will be an option to disable the shield

I actually like DC's version of the tactical shield, well until there is a way to improve it.

So I give a thumbs up. And another thumb up for considering a "enable/disable shield option."
