Go to the folder where you have CS2D installed, then inside sys there's a file called config.cfg. Open it with Notepad or similar and change the res value under the // Graphics section to what you used before.

How do I find the right res? My cursos feels so sloppy and slow no matter which res I pick.

That's a super difficult topic. It depends on your hardware.

You can try using the same resolution as your desktop
https://www.howtogeek.com/732798/how-to-check-your-screen-resolution-in-windows-10/

Note that CS2D is optimized to work with a resolution of 850x480. Using higher resolutions doesn't really make graphics look better but costs a lot of extra performance. You should pick the next highest supported resolution which matches your screen ratio. Most likely that's 1280x720 (on a 16:9 screen) or 1024x768 (on a 4:3 screen)

In some cases windowed mode works better. Change
win 0
to
win 1
in config.cfg to use it. In that case you could also use a lower resolution such as the original 850x480. Many people prefer fullscreen though.

-> Options > Graphics > Graphics card: just choose opengl or directx and see what is good for you.
Or most like you got vsync enable which increase mouse inputlag, you can disable in the same way on options > graphics > uncheck vsync (or go to the config.cfg and set vsync 0).

The res doesn't have nothing to do with the mouse input lag. Mabye you feel the crosshair is slow when you increase the res (more pixels = less speed).

DirectX + Vsync OFF + Fullscreen is the only way to play CS2D without input delay. If you use anything different from that, you will have input delay.
