Hello everyone. Some of you may know that I have started with a project called "Doom 2D". It's a top-down rework of Doom in CS2D. It will include everything from the classic Doom and from Doom II:

> Monsters (Yes, End Boss will be included too in a special co-op map),

> Items,

> Invasion Co-op (probably Singleplayer too),

> Weapons (all weapons, including some additional weapons like Unmaker, Railgun, Grenade Launcher, BFG 10K),

> Fast paced Multiplayer (including all Skulltag multiplayer modes),

> Doom HUD!,

> Power-ups (excluding "time freezing" one).


The team consists of
user gamus (me) - scripting,
user _Yank. - scripting

We are in need of gfx makers and mappers.

Hopefully this won't be stuck in development hell. Rebuilding each level from Doom and Doom 2 will take a lot of effort, especially since most of them rely on vertical level design. And don't forget the soundtrack as well :3

@user Seekay: It won't. Knee Deep in the Dead will be the episode bundled with the first release of Doom2D. Other episodes will be uploaded as a "downloadifyouwantyoutwat" files.
I won't forget the soundtrack.

Alright, that makes sense. Doom's shareware version is Knee-Deep in the Dead only. So you are kind of doing what the PlayStation port did? Adding Doom 2 monsters into Doom 1? Kinda weird, I didn't like the fact that in E1M1, there's a Pain Elemental in the secret tunnel on the left side of the zick zack room, or the Chaingunner in the computer room. And what about the stuff that didn't exist in E1, like the Plasma Rifle, BFG9000, the Cacodemon, the Spider Mastermind? You're just gonna put them in places they wouldn't be to fresh things up a bit?

Do you consider that standard view is top down ... so for me it seems only something like this type.
There is link to Doom: Flatten Horizon
This is closest to Doom with top down view.

@user Yashukiller: I fixed your reply because you addressed a user at the end of your reply is a bit sense less. Always when you address (@) a user then you must address the user at the start of your reply not the end of your reply. Don't take this personally/seriously I just only gave an advice (we mods aren't only to temp.ban rule violators and prevent shits to invade this forum, y'a know what I mean).
