Just buy a new computer, anything worth 200$ will run CS2D no lags

if you get up to 40FPS its good (30>40) cause the maximum is 50 so i recommend to upgrade RAM to 4GB and also get a 64bit System
downgrading to windows vista is always a good idea

I get a solid 49 to 50 FPS in-game of CS2D with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card. I'd recommend getting such a graphics card due to it's low power consumption and it's ability to run in dual SLI mode if you decide to buy another GPU someday. If not go for GTX 780 Ti or even GTX 980 but they require a better PSU to operate properly keep that in mind if you're a PC builder.

If your CS2D feels laggy your graphics card or processor is pretty much very bad and you should upgrade to something better generally to get better FPS and a better gaming experience in general.

I second that, programs like these are more likely to slow your computer down even further or to even break something.

It's better to learn what makes your computer slow and approach it head on to fix it.

It could be as simple as an outdated software and as complicated as faulty RAM, but something is clearly wrong and it's up to you to uncover that.

Alternatively, consult with your local tech support.

@user MaksDragon, @user Mami Tomoe: the user @user khaled1968 might mean not a pc booster as You may thought, but an utility to download missing/update software, not a thing like "click the button and Your pc turn into rocket".

But anyway @user blurr, tell us what have been changed with Your pc last time and what drivers You have used before and what is currently used. Without any additional information is hard to tell a thing.

@user Mora, you shouldn't rely on random software on the internet to update your drivers/software, not even something such as Avast!.

> For drivers:
• If you bought your computer from an OEM, you may go on their website to find the latest drivers.
• If you built your own computer, then it is likely that you already installed all the drivers, which means you should know where to get the updates from (I.E. AMD's website for AMD drivers.)

> For software:
• Most software nowadays has an auto-update feature, find the about page in the program, and it should let you update if needed.
• For older software, just go to their website to find out if there's a new update.

This all might feel manual and slow as compared to just having a magical software to do it for you, but most of those programs are just going to make things worse by installing drivers that do not belong on your computer and/or trying to update software but bricking it instead.

Just do it yourself, it's smarter.

@user blurr:

You must have some sort of GPU to have a display. Since Pentium 4 did not have iGPU, you must have something like an AGP card.

AIDA64 can tell it or just type "dxdiag" in search and give us the output from the "Display" tab once it is opened.
