Run it from the console and see what it says.

I have read the "Linux Info.txt" and in that was written:
"tested on: Ubuntu 8.04.2"
Its a problem.Because the new Ubuntu(13.04), diferent of thats version, dont have gnome(have the unity), and had a lot of changes

gfx/player/t1.bmp

Did you do what the instructions on the website say? You have unpack the WINDOWS (!!!) zip file to the same folder as the Linux binary! Otherwise all images and sounds are missing and you can't run the game.

Ubuntu 13.04 has a bad kernel which does not support sound (depends on your hardware). Beware and wait for updates.

If you have sound generally (in system) - you won't manage to have sound in CS2D anyway, because you need to rebuild kernel with OSS support (and possibly Alsa).

@user Happy Camper:
Ubuntu does not support OSS.

I have Ubuntu 13.04 with the original kernel and I get sound when I use padsp together with CS2D.

From the man page:
Quote
padsp starts the specified program and redirects its access to OSS compatible audio devices (/dev/dsp and auxiliary devices) to a PulseAudio sound server.

So it removes the need for OSS.

Use padsp:
1
padsp ./CounterStrike2D <arguments>
If you don't have padsp, install pulseaudio-utils.

I have try.... but it fail.

@DC:
I have tested every option of audio driver(and have tested all with Mono and Stereo), but the sounds continue not playing.

When you say it fails, you mean that there is still no sound when using padsp? It doesn't crash or print some error message? Do you get sound with other programs?

Yes, i mean it still no sound.

The game dont crash or anything like that, just no play any sound.

EDIT:
Doing padsb ./CounterStrike2D <arguments> it show's the message:
bash: erro de sintaxe próximo do `token' não esperado `newline'
(or in english:
bash: syntax error near `token 'unexpected' newline '
)

When I wrote <arguments> I meant that you should replace that with some arguments, e.g. -full. So try this instead:
1
padsp ./CounterStrike2D
You need to cd to the CS2D folder first.

I think it depends a bit whether you're running ubuntu 32bit or 64bit.

Because cs2d is only available in 32 bit it will work well on 32bit ubuntu, but on 64bit it'll need a some multiarch support.
I think this can make a difference when it comes to the sound drivers.
I've had success installing some additional libraries (once openal, once alsa I think) with the sound.

while padsp has worked for me too, I've had a delay of 1s with the padsp wrapper.

now that cs2d has support for other backends than oss, it's probably better to use them.
