Edit: March 8th, 2015

Info: Hello, Everyone! Yes, I'm still developing the game. had to take a little break due to things like school and whatnot. So, in order to do the multiplayer, I may have to go back to game maker 8.1 rather than studio as the multiplayer in GM: Studio is still taking some time.

@user RAIGEKI: Because usually people with experience makes games with scripting language editors (and starting your code from scratch) rather a program that lets you to customize the game with it's own tools. I agree on the fact that it's better to use an IDE to develop a game instead of a game making program, you have full power on what you want to make and on what you want the players to make.

Game maker IS an IDE. What you create in it is made from scratch. It is not just a "Game Making program". Some guy even created an emulator in it. The whole coding language is using the C++ syntax. There are a whole lot of books and courses for this environment. It is not like "I want to make game so I download game maker and have it done in 20 minutes".

I guess you have no idea how long would it take to build your own engine from scratch in c++. It would takes months and months of research and a lot of work to get a really really simple basics.

As an indie game developer you are depended on external programs. 95% of indie games on steam are created by either Game Maker or unity.

Scripting languages do not have the power to create a game. Scripting is heavily depended on something that already exists. There is no creativity and ingenuity involved.

So I would greatly appreciate if you researched this topic before you start judging users and ignorantly calling them "Inexperienced".
Person behind this project could have been working on it for quite a while and you blew away his months of work with a simple, single sentence. How fair is that?

To people who are wondering how was the 3D effect done.
He used this engine.

yeeeeah a new post xd
i hope you will get the multiplayer
do you work with 39dll?

I'm not sure. I'm between faucet or 39dll. 39dll is powerful and effective but faucet is easier to learn.

Great work, when i saw the video posted in the thread, this looks like similar to the BattleField Remastered Alpha but this is still good.

I originally made ModernWarfareTDS first and was messing around with some stuff in BAttlfieod remastered.

@user erik9631: Great mistake, I never called anyone inexperienced. I said usually people with experience, I'm not judging expert developers for using that tool if they wanted to, I am just saying that in my opinion it would be better to use the traditional programs the people uses to develop stuff.

@user Starkkz:

These ARE the traditional programs.
Do you really expect indie developers to use Visual Studio to develop a game from nothingness?

As I said before. Unity and game maker is widely used to develop games.

Maybe if you said what "traditional" programs do you have in mind, I would understand better.

@user erik9631: I'd rather stop arguing with someone that compares a 3D game development program that provides a wonderful library for graphics, and a 2D game development program which isn't even necessary to be used in order to develop a game of that type. Unity is much different from Game Maker, you don't really need Game Maker to develop a 2D program, to me it isn't really programming a game when you're giving a thousand functionalities that were already made by another programmer that is not you. Unless it was a 3D Engine from where you took some functionalities to build up your own core.

I will be uploading the next alpha version soon! Also I'm in dire need of map designers. This is article is from my Game IndieDB page:

At Ease, Cadet. I've finally found some time to continue my development on my video game. However, I need some talented map makers to make me some really great maps.

I've been looking at some of the reviews I got and one thing that stood out was the small map sizes. They're right, I do need bigger maps, nut, at the same time, I'm not good at making a creative and well balanced map. If you want to be part of the map making process, here are the requirements:

Need Counter Strike 2D Map Editor (In-Game)
Use 2Gen's Realistic Tileset Full (223 tiles) (UnrealSoftware)
Hint: In th CS2D map editor, when you click on the wrench icon (#2 on the picture), make the ratio 1:1.

If you wish to contact me about the map development, contact me @ - Email address (only visible with login) - or at unrealsoftware.de at Greenhawk
