I also think it was poorly handled by the professor to suggest that other students should or have to stomp on a written paper which contains the text jesus. I suspect that it's quite disrespectful in a metaphoric gesture kind of way. Even though I'm not religious myself, respect for others is a must. People have the right to believe in what they want and to have their beliefs respected. I hope the university professor apologize for his action because that sure ain't a nice thing to do.

There's loads of scandals in any country really, so post more if you find any. I just assume it'd be great for discussion purposes.

@user KimKat: Implying that 90% of the people actually care and aren't BRBRNOKILL or just passive.

As I've read, the point of the exercise was to prove that words have power. As in, the professor had to tell students to write "Jesus" or some other word, ask them to stomp on the paper and then ask why hey didn't stomp on it. And then talk to them about how much words mean and that they have value. It might've been the student's fault that he got suspended (Mormons lol) but that is unknown, so that's the info I had at the time of posting.

I'm pretty sure that the professor was following a drill from some textbook they were probably working with.
The only thing i really see in this article is one more kid bitching about religions and names. It's not about respecting beliefs, it's about words written on a paper and kids being too sensitive to stomp it.

@user Mechanolith: While I am areligious I would never stomp on something like that because it simply means a lot to people. While other people's feelings can not limit my freedom of speech or expression I would still take those into account.
