When the fuck: this Monday early morning (1-2 AM) - this Saturday (4 PM)
Where the fuck: Steenwijk
Why the fuck: student exchange program
First impressions: pretty fucking sweet

Pros: friendliest people I met; most people (girls) are open-minded about relationships; you can order alcohol at a pub without anyone asking for your ID; a joint is worth ~2.5 euros (no, I haven't smoked it here); people speak English pretty damn well; girls are gorgeous; more shit I can't remember.

Cons: couldn't find any.

Conclusion: fucking ace, too bad I'm leaving in two days. Go here, people, this country rocks. Except you, 12-year-old fucks, no one likes you and weed is illegal for foreigners here since 01/01/2013. You have to be 18 anyway.

So you're going to Groningen or Amsterdam right?
Because Steenwijk sounds like you're in Drenthe, which is pretty much the hobbithole of the Netherlands.

Btw the title is wrong. Holland is the western part of the Netherlands, which is divided in North and South Holland. Currently you're in the Netherlands, you're with Dutch people who speak Dutch.

Even worse, beer is illegal for people under 18 since 1/1/13 aswell. First you could get it at 16.

A lot of people call the county "Holland", and while I am aware of the districts, I like to call it that way. Every Dutch person I met said "Holland" and a couple of girls ranted about Brits being complicated and not calling Holland "Holland".
Don't know where you're getting your facts from but I got beers with no problem at all. And my Dutch exchange partner is sitting beside me and telling me that it's 16.

According to that article, it's not yet changed, but it will. I was wrong; if you're under 16 and walk around with beer you can get a 45,- fine.

The part about Holland and the Netherlands is true. You're not in "Holland" right now, to be precise. You're in Drenthe.

Lolwhat? I heard about that shit, but I still get in everywhere. So basically the new law is bull and hasn't done shit yet.

Wohooh!

Edit: Just read the other posts. Never mind then.

Netherlands is shit country. Full of Moroccans and Turks.

My advice; go back to where you came from. You need a piece of paper to show that you live in the Netherlands to get weed now. *Sigh*

@user Ahmad:
Islam. It's a bad influence upon the otherwise accepting, beautiful culture the Netherlands has built up over it's existence.

That's very ignorant and unnecessary.

It's that, Islamic adolescents in the Netherlands tend to steal more stuff than Dutch ones.

Oh and they break Wilder's kopvoddentaks, which forbids people to wear e.g burqa's, which is terrible in itself.

These kind of threads make me sick. Haven't you go out before? As I remember this forum isn't a BLOG, neither your diary. Why don't you write your "first impression" about a new supermarket which opened in your town or something else? Not to mention these racistic posts. Also those "where the fuck", "when the fuck" or "why the fuck" things. Just pathetic I am being more sad about humanity ever day.

@user buraxia3: Okay, firstly, learn English. It hurts to read your posts. Secondly, I am sorry that you can only talk about games, as this is a gaming forum after all and you seem very displeased with this travelling-related thread. And finally, you do know you can just go fuck yourself if you can't say anything smart, right?
