It's not like people upload seperate maps and tilesets. It's not like people like you using their tileset if they don't upload it seperate.

Some tips from me:
Depends of the place, style of your map, you need tileset which will fit to your map.You can't use eye cancer tileset. It makes your map worse. If you want to make a city, then you need a lot of grey, brown brick and floor tiles. When you're making jungle, you need a lot of plants sprites. Search for tilesets on servers with different maps.

You should try to use your sprites. If you can't, search for original and not popular ones.

Don't use objects from map editor like trees, palms. Use sprites for that.

Don't make your map boring. If you don't know what you can add to the map, then put some flowers, effects. It always help.

Ideas? Make zombie escape in hospital. You must escape to the roof, where helicopter is waiting

Adventure maps, you say? Well, I, created shitton of them, so here are few advices.

If you want to create a nice adventure map, don't even think about making the ending stupid as shit and making the map short. You need a lot of objectives for the player to complete, as much as possible.

For the styling advices, ask someone else. Style isn't so much on my side, but I get well with it.

Great maps come from great ideas. Firstly, plan out your map rather than forcibly fleshing it out. I get inspiration from the maps I've scrapped rather than the maps I've released. Second, don't expect your map to spread like wildfire. That means you can have the best map in the world but 99% of the time it'll just be ignored. So discipline such as brilliance going first and seeking for a large volume of people playing it goes second. Third, Lua is intricate to learn for most people but is not a require for creating awesome maps. Fourth, maps require patience and virtue if you want to see the light of day with your map being created. These are just pieces of advice which you must need to create a map. The author's well thought ideas weighs more than the assets from which he adds to it.
