@user ModJuicer:
Modds will be possible with lua, no strict game files will be editable or any source code to prevent cheating etc as it will support multiplayer. Model will be in FBX format (as for now (?) he export is as OBJ due to some problems)

i dont know... my favorite part of the game is modding and i've been looking foreward to it's release. Maybe he could have something like cs2d, where it loades someone else's scene while playing on multiplayer. Thanks

@user DC: not sure if you already have one (I dont remember reading about it though) but I've found that having a trello board really helps me stay focussed and motivated for my project, as I can define nice little tasks and organize them in order of importance.
in fact I have multiple seperate trello boards for different larger sub-parts of my project, e.g. a unity editor tool, another editor tool and finally the runtime project itself.

I dislike management overhead and I don't think it's required for a project which I work on alone. A simple to-do list on paper is sufficient and more efficient in my case But thanks for the idea.

I like using a whiteboard for software projects - that way I can never plan too much (never more than fits on one board), and can wipe away stuff I have already competed, so progress is visible. Add a deadline to that and it gets difficult to not complete a project - also I can always add a second development phase afterwards.

In stranded II the mapmaking is time consuming because there is not a copy/cut/paste function. It would be awesome if stranded 3 had this function, along with the shortcuts for it (ctrl c ctrl v ctrl x)

that would be rather easy to implement.
you would just have a box asset with random loot contents, and a parachute that produces drag and follows the wind direction (assuming S3 will implement that), so its not really something id say that needs to be worried about.

Yep, would be very easy to add.

Supply drops however don't make much sense in a cast away scenario. If they would know where you are they would rescue you instead of dropping supplies and leaving.

The only scenario in that context I can imagine is that they don't have enough space in their vehicle or can't land/anchor for some reason (e.g. weather conditions) so they have to return later and leave something for you so you manage to survive until they return.

Or they drop the stuff for someone - or - *creepy music* something else on the island.

I would say it could be good if you intend for a 'battlegrounds' gamemode, or otherwise if you want to have two militias fighting for the archipelago, but unless its in a ww2 setting, it probably wont be very fun xS

Nazi jokes and all
(Yes im aware the pacific was more of the japanese front but meh, the game has kiwis and dinosaurs )

But jokes aside, the system could work in a multiplayer mode or some kind of lore.

It probably was asked, but since there're 80 pages of comments, i can't read everything:

@user DC: will you bring Stranded 3 to mobile?

EDIT: Also, can I ask why you like Lua so much? Seems that you use and let users use it too in every game of yours(Not that it's a bad language, just out of curiosity)

@user peq42: On Stranded III's page, it says at the bottom of the facts and plans list, that a mobile version is not planned.

I assume he goes with Lua because it's easy to learn and it's what a lot of people here are familiar with, thanks to CS2D and CC. It would just be more convenient if S3 supported Lua as well.

@user script favor: Chill dude, he was just wondering. After all it's relatively easy to make Unity games for any platform. It would require some work to make the game more potato friendly and of course make the UI touchscreen compatible, but it's doable. It would just delay the release even more.
