i think the sounds in stranded 2 were awesome and are now even nostalgic, especially the music. I can hear those sounds anywhere and i'd know straight where they were from. I hope they will be implemented in stranded 3. Kind of like how the mgs series and half-life has some of the same sounds throughout the sequels. Anyway love stranded, only game that i haven't stopped playing and messing with since it came out. came out before minecraft and surpassed it in my book.

Way to go, DC! Glad to see you've chosen Ogre3D for your new engine. I've work quite a bit with MOgre as I don't know C++. But with C++ it's truly an amazing engine to work with.

I'm very it will support bump mapping as well, since you can get a lot better graphics with that. So many tools exist for working with Ogre that there's already a lot of potential for modders.

Really looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

@user VaiN: I actually switched to Unity3D because it will speed up development soooo much. I accidentally overwrote the previous dev blog entry which was about that topic. I will restore this blog entry later. Sorry.

Hey, i just noticed yesterday that you're making a new Stranded game. I spend many hours on playing Stranded II and I want to thank you for making such a great game. I'm sure that Stranded III will be even better. I'll look forward to any new information on making progress. Good luck.

@user Assassin moder: I'm still not using game makers because Unity3D is not a game maker. It's a nice cross-platform engine with cool development environment. You don't come really far without scripting/programming. Sure, there are many ready scripts you can use but they don't do exactly what you want them to do in most cases.

What I'm doing is completely ignoring the Unity3D editor and doing EVERYTHING in code. So I'm using Unity3D like a game engine. I've written over 2,500 lines of code already.

If you use unity only for engine, than why don't you use UDK, it is an engine only with no proper IDE.

The UDK can't be used to create games which can be modded. It simply doesn't have the features to do that. It doesn't allow external resource loading at all. Also the UDK does have an IDE as well.

@user Jela331: DC will make a trailer once he is ready as he has done so for all his games. The only reason he is asking people to do a new one for CS2D is because he is too busy with Stranded.

Hmmm... Unity3D has a function for mobile apps right? So is S3 be planing for android or other phone device or @user DC: you need to think ?

I think that stranded wouldn't be ported on mobile devices, because it's a lot of limits related with mobile platform

There are no plans for a mobile version at the moment. A mobile version with limited features might be a possibility for the future though.
