My one friend is a little insane with boredom and his computer... He has 50TB of memory, and 2TB of RAM... like why?! His computer weighs like 200lbs!

As I am justed bored:
Oh come on, what a bad lie. First of all, make it something more special, increase the size of the storage. 50TB hdd are nothing special, that's just a regular consumer NAS.

But 2TB of ram. Ok let us imagine he is using an Intel Xeon board with 24 ram slot, and let us imagine he is using 32gb ram modules, he would reach a total of 768GB which is also the maximum of what current mainboards support. The next problem would be the operating system. Neither Windows 7, nor Windows Server 2008 for Intel Xeon support 2TB of memory. He would need to use Windows Server 2012, or some linux bullcrap or come on even better, using his own handwritten OS.

I now got my new HD which is 320 gigs. Which for me. is a great leap from 125.. also wasnt very cheap. -.- as i didnt want to wait for them to order one. 320 was the only ones in stock.

@user Jela331: I can feel your pain, bro. Fucking expensive hardware.

yea tell me about it.. 800 bucks just gone.

Either your local dealer is giving you bad advise at selling you a 2.5" 320GB SDD, or he is totally screwing you over. Not even "original" apple hard drives (also known as oem harddrives from samsung/western digital/seagate with an small apple on it) are that expensive. Not as overpriced as the "original apple" no name crap ram memory which is used in the iMac/mac mini/MB/MBA/MBP series, but still too expensive.

@user Obviously Exactly Myself: Actually in my country, you can buy 2-3TB Hard drive for 30.000HUF (About 10k euro/USD)

Pretty sure just a typo, cuz 30k HUF are about 110 Euro, and not 10k Euro.

And to answer the original question:
500 GB internal storage
about 1TB external storage

My hard drive is this big. Not as big as my laptop nor as small as my PC. So, its just that big. I think its about as big as an exercise book but only a bit more thicker.

A RAID10 of 4 3TB drives, totaling 6TB of hard disk space, in my home server ( connected to the rest of my PCs via 1Gbps network ), 2.25TB of RAID1 ( 2x 2TB RAID1 and 2x 250GB SSD's which are used for booting and installing some common played heavy-hard-disk-using games ) in the gaming rig and an 80GB SSD in the work PC ( I store all the rest of the stuff on the network drives ).
