No this not a rumour, is something that some scientists belief,
only because the maya´s calendar ends in 2012.
In my opinion the maya´s calendar end in 2012 because they die or the where lazy to continue

volcanoes don't damage planet but ash and gas can cool the global temperature and blot out the sun i've heard. i think this all is bullshit but if something is going to kill living beings, its the global warming(people starve, some animals and plants die) or nuclear warfare which is unfortunately looking more obvious every minuteSuperVolcano
