there would be more hackers if he makes this open source
the same reason why DC aint making latest version of CS2D open source

Right, I'm relatively new to Stranded II, so I am just posting this as a hesitant question. I know others are also thinking this as well, so I'm not too embarrassed
Oracle: With the Multi-player Mod, I was wondering if its possible to directly link to a person on another computer. I'm in Canada, and my friend lives in the U.S., so is it possible to make a private game to play with him alone and no others joining it?

As an off kind of thing...
Will this work with Builders Massive Mod? I know everyone else is thinking this too. If it works, why, and if it won't, will you and Builder work together to make it happen?

If it does, or you will work, heres a cookie for you both

No, it won't. At least, not by default. They built the mod off default S2. It somehow works with a blend of normal S2 scripting and source code editing. If I understand correctly, I'll need to rebuild Massive Mod using the Multiplayer Mod as a base (just as I originally made Massive Mod using Stranded 2 as a base). I'm not sure how well it'll work though. It honestly depends on if the multiplayer mod can handle local\global scripts and is able to sync things well. Otherwise certain functions I've got running (ie; fire fuel checks) might get messed up.

The thing is, you need to put some new lines under EACH script you made. That's much work.

Of course it will be possible to just join by IP without being in the serverlist, or just using an older version of hamachi (don't know if it works with the new ones too, but I had bad experience with them.)

So, in Multiplayer Mod, each object, item, and units (in a way) has extra lines of script to make sure both players can see/interact with?

This being so, any other mods wont work straight away because any extra objects/items/units wont have these lines of code.

This being the case, is it difficult (do doubt time consuming), to implement these scripts into every new object/item/unit in any one mod?

If so, cookies to all! cookie cookie

Yes it is kinda much work, that's why we only did the normal items so far.
But it's just copy and paste to other objects, as long as they don't have any complicated script to do. But for more information please ask RoyalFlash

What changes in S2 SCRIPT have you made? I mean, I want to make my mods for your S2 MP, and what kind of things I'll have to change?

Items require no special changes
you just need your mod and add it to the game but the other guy needs to have that mod too or he wont be able to join the server

When this comes out, there'll be at least 3 players online anytime. I have a question: can people join a game that has already started? That would be very awesome.
The game is paused until 2 players are connected. More than two persons don't work till now
