most toplevel domains (domains like name.tld) cost money. you can try to google for "free toplevel domains" or something like that.

you can often get subdomains like name.bla.tld for free though.

I'd say freewebs (now called simply: webs).
There is also awardspace, free0host, bravenet, 50webs and many more. But I recommend these personally.


He meant free domain (those short ones that look "professional") not free hosting/website creation...
Duh, those sites I recommended has that too if you pay attention and look closer in detail to what the site offers you. I'm pretty sure some of them do. Awardspace infact offers a free domain.

Yeah, but you still need to buy those domains. They only provide "domain hosting", which means that you buy your domain and can use it with their webspace.
