I know there have been probably similar or equal threads to this one, but people usually changes their desktops with time.

I like to keep it simple. I use the Classic Windows Theme to improve performance (don't need fancy and shiny themes that just reduce performance) and have all my icons organised below in an application I really recommend called RocketDock. At the left, there are the icons to go to games and at the right the ones to go to software, tools, recycle bin, etc. My background is a L4D wallpaper with some Special Infected/Bosses which I really enjoy.
Now, it's your turn to post your own.

You do realize that maybe he doesn't care about saving power? Owait, he said so already above.
No, I have an explanation as to why his background is black.
Try looking at something white and/or has a combination of the primary colours (red/green/blue) at 2-5 in the morning without getting watery eyes from the burning pain.
Or it's just personal preference. Can't post mine. Would be violating the rules
