DannyDeth, this game is not easy to make, and i never said to rate it if it's not there, use your common sense, I obviously mean rate survival 2d till i release the other games, or give suggestion for the new ones that are coming out.
But if you MUST have something to give a suggestion, here, a demo i've put together, unplayable, but on it's way.

No offense meant here, but that is bullshit. Survival2D is about as easy to make as it gets. It is aprox. 50-75 lines in C++/SDL.
And i don't seem to see YOU have any games, so you really can't say it's as easy as it gets. your not the one who made it.

Well, when you have to study and work, there is no time for making games. The only time I would make a game is when I was bored and felt like coding something other than the projects I am already busy with.
EDIT: And I don't mean to offend you. All I'm saying is that Survival 2D has no repeatability, it has one map, the map fits in the window ( big problem ), the map doesn't scroll around keeping the player in the centre, there is no menu system and the list goes on.

also i like your game its fun
my advise:
1. faster heakth drain
2. ai that stalks you as in chase you
3. camera move with player.(my game has every level with an invisible bar that moves camera when player collides with it maybe you try that or try something else

Anyway I've pretty much ditched survival 2d and working full time on my new WTF Am I.
And Joel, i'm working on making bears that chase you so that covers no.2
no.3 I have no freakin idea how to do, so may take some time to add, but i originally thought that the game should have it, so that's not exactly a new idea..
no.1 I haven't made a health drain option, only hunger which will eventually drain your health anyway.
And thanks heaps for the support!

On Topic = Added sound fx including death, which now makes the player explode in a cloud of blood! Random, but cool. Added the first water species, crocodile.
Adding bears and boars has been tempo, postponed because my sprite screwed up heaps for both of them.
ATM adding birds and insects to liven up the place
EDIT= Adding screen scrolling like Joel suggested, turns out not as hard as i thought. added wild boar, but crap gfx for now. finished hunger system, adding food.
and now the island is about 4 times as big

Upgrades, yeah, seems interesting, ill think about that one.
Campfire life i can do shinch, just a simple alarm event!
Night time i'm already working on, although i've gotten no where with it.
Random events may just be the last thing i do with the game in alpha, because that would be difficult to make.
And i'm going to release the game later when i've finished the hunting and food options, as well as some buildings.
EDIT= Finished Hunting with spears, added the ability to "carry" pork around with you till its cooked
I will release today some time probs, but there is some issues i need to fix and things to add before i do.
