I Have Read On This Forum Somewhere Somebody Has Tried To Add An Ecosystem But Scratched The Idea Because Of Balance Problems, Well I Am Sorry For Your Luck, And Would Like To Guve It A Shot Myself, However Can't Think Of A Way To Implement Animals Hunting Each Other Or Plants. If Somebody Out There Has Already Written Some Script For This I Would Like To See It So That I May Try And Be Useful, And Make The Public Addition Of A Self Sustaining Food Web, For The Betterment Of Gameplay...
I Also Plan On Making Animals Reproduce Based On How Much Food They Have Etc. That Way It Will Be Like In Real Life (More Prey One Day Creates More Predators The Next Resulting In Less Prey(Because They Get Eaten) And Therefore More Berries(Or W/E) The Next Day, However Due To The Shortage Of Prey There Would Then Be Less Predators, And Therefore, Once Again An Abundance Of PREY!!!

i think that it should be implemented because on some maps you could run out of animals to hunt and on some mods as well as some maps you may get an uncontrollable number of animals
But first of all you should ask around in the scripting questions and see what you can learn
then i would probably work out a food webon paper and figure out what will eat what
And you could add somethin to the animals that they build the nests not just generating them at the start.
Then after they build a nest eg: kiwi Three baby kiwi will apear a few days later and the nest will disapear then the mother kiwi will dissapear therefor creating some sort of pbalance with the kiis but have bigger animals prey them.

But the sad fact is that i cannot give any advice on the scripting side of things.
