eg.
name of map : cs_map
open a notepad and write your briefing. Then save as cs_map and put it in the same folder- (cs2d_0109/maps)

But remember that most briefings are left unread.
Why? Because they don't offer new information. Especially for Hostage, VIP and Bombdefuse maps its almost every time the same:
Rescue hostages! Protect the VIP! Defuse the bomb!
Thats all information offered. You shoud provide these additional information:
in Hostage rescue:
where are the hostages? (use phrases like "north-west from your starting point" for the CTs). How many hostages are there?
in Assassination:
Where is the Escape point?
in bomb defusion:
Where are the bomb sites?

etc. etc.

I think a briefing must contain how the triggers work if they affect the game behaviour (ok, simple light triggers needn't to be explained, I think ), like triggers that activate something very deadly, etc. etc.

And if you have something else in your map you think its not that easy to get for a newbie, better write it into your briefing.
By the way, you don't have to bother about your briefing lenght. CS2D does allow scrolling.

Try to keep as much useful information in your briefing but don't write novels!
Baby information ("a light trigger makes light on") needn't to be written down.

So if the briefings contain useful information they may be read.
