I, too, had horrible frame rate issues. Lowering view distance, resolution and turning off grass all had no effect.
However, lowering water quality completely fixed it, and I was able to not only crank all the other settings up to max, but further enhance the game with graphics card settings and have it run flawlessly.

Try it out- perhaps it could fix your problem as well?

The same problem. However, I believe this is not graphics - rather, some scripts gone berserk. I threw a whole load of fish (approx. 20) on the grille and went to sleep. When I woke up it was raining, the fish was uncooked and it was lagging like hell.

UPD: Eah, btw, an exploit - or a thing to simplify survival:
When you build something (anything, generally) you kick a lot of trees. It mainly means you get a lot of bark. If you SEARCH the bark, you get a great load of edibles, however boring the process is. The point is, one piece of bark can be searched multiple times. Slime passes as a replacement for water and insects are edible... but more importaint THEY ARE BAIT! The fishing pole is completely simple to construct, and voila! in a couple of days you are more or less stuffed with fish.

For the massive fps drop,i think i found the problem.If you use grill or forge,and lot of stuff stay here(cant pic up with E),sometimes fps drop to 1-2.Press U when you near,and pick up everything,and fps go back normal.I have old pc P4 2.0 @2,5Ghz 7300Gt ddr3(tuned too)512 SDram .Everything on max in 1024x768 motion blur off view range grass medium.I get 25-40 Fps.Except run,here another massive fps drop to 1-2fps,BUT 1x somehow it stuck on always run,and when i dont press any button,just run,no fps drop,so this is a bug too.

And another bug. Could you please add some conditions for randon events on changeday to occur? It is a bit strange to have a fire in your camp, when a fireplace has not even been placed.
UPD: Don't know if it's a bug or a feature, but I was actually able to fry several Large Eggs near a burning Shelter I didn't have an opportunity to look into it deeper (I ran out of eggs) but I get a strong suspicion that the may not require fire to cook

So I'm uploading the new version. Couple bug fixes for water\food\etc. I'm trying a new way of triggering cook\forge times, tell me if the lag is worse or better now.

NEW VERSION:
http://www.filedropper.com/massivemod_1

Delete the old one, install this one. It will either work a lot better or work a lot worse.

Unfortunately, a lot worse. Even when nothing is being cooked and the fireplace itself is extinguished, the game lags. (I was using the saves from the previous version). When something IS being cooked, or at least lies near the fireplace, the game lags like hell, but in an interesting way: it lags A LOT for a minute or so, then you get a breathing space of some 30-20 secs, then it LAGGGZ again.

Don't use saves from the previous version. Try a new game, does it still lag?

Hey Builder and all

Cant download your mod yet, gotta wait for next month, but sure am looking forward to it, from what i have heard, it sounds fantastic

Im not sure if these things are already included in the mod, but i have some suggestions if possible

-Possibility to travel to a new island on a raft(Maybey can travel back and forth islands for materials, giving the sail raft more use)
-Blank peices of paper, so you can draw a map(or maybey a set map for islands) of the island, to make it easier finding your camp

But If this is already in the mod just ignore this post

Thats all for now, i might come back to you once i download the mod!
Thanks heaps

Also if any of you like me love these types of games, you might like the new Man VS Wild Game coming out

@Builder2-0
I have found a slight bug. Since I haven't yet gotten two pieces of flint I have been using the stick and bark combination to light my fire. However this combination doesn't work when trying to light the forge. This is only a minor inconvenience but I thought I should report it.

I would also like to make a minor suggestion to improve the usefulness of the map. Could a charcoal and map combination be used to spawn an info object that would show a mark on the map and (if possible) choose the color of the mark from the three default map markings (blue, red, and green)?

Thanks for the great mod!

Found a little bug! Whenever I exit the mine I take massive damage, and if I exit it low on health, it kills me.

Same problem here. Has the newest version fixed it?

One more question

When you build a well, it will eventually get contaminated with dirt and tells you that you need to dig near it with a spade to fix it.

I've dug plenty of holes near the well and even dug a trench all the way around it, down to the water table, and it still doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

Hi folks,

my first post!

been playing Stranded II with the Massive Mod all day now.

Love it!

question though, I can't figure out how to make metal tools after i've forged the heads.

i've tried combining with long and short handles, logs, wooden rods, branches.. nothing works!

before i switched to MM, it was hammer with iron and branch.

i've tried with both soft metal heads and "tempered" heads (should really change from "hard" to "tempered" as it's technically inaccurate :P).

Am I missing something?

@Builder
Major error when using the forge.
It all started when I left some soft iron rods and nails in the forge. When the fire went out and the soft iron tools had cooled I came back and relight the forge to finish making the tools but the tools wouldn't heat up. To confirm this I placed unworked iron, an axe head, and an iron rod and followed the same heating and cooling cycle. When trying to reheat it however I placed unfired copies of the iron tools and unworked iron. The only items to heat were both unworked iron clumps and the unfired iron tools. This problem can be fixed if the items are picked up and thrown back on the fire however if the item is to deep in the forge this can't be done. Also these items get trapped in the forge since the pickup script will not get unfinished items. Please look into why this problem is occurring.

@loneranger
Use nails to connect tool heads to handles.

Hey guys

Just got the mod and it is so AWESOME. Great fun.
Just got a couple of things to say
-At night time it is hard to see if meat is cooked or not, maybey they could glow or a message when they have cooked.
-Sometimes iron gets stuck in forge(Quite rare though)
-And i have a question of what things can i use to fast-cool hot iron. I only know the bucket

Thanks
