@spf357: You don't kill people with the handle if the knife.. So shouldnt the top be red and the handle white then?

@DC: That's weird.. Or I'm color blind or I'm right and I see that the knife is red.. But back to the topic, even if its brown, why is it brown? Isn't cs 1.6 knife handle black or grey? Just asking, because i will make a skin for the knife that makes it more realistic, but maybe if u got a good reason/explanation ill leave it that way..

Thanks

Google > Pictures > CS 1.6 Knife = Black/Grey

I'm not a CS 1.6 Pro so is there any other reason I shouldn't reskin the knife in CS2D? Is the handle of the knife sometimes red in CS 1.6 for some reason? If no I'll go reskin it to the right color right away lol.

the knife in 2d it looks like a cigar...
then when u slash, it looks like the smoke...

The slash is placed-off a bit.. You'll notice when you slash, the slash itself doesn't fit with the knife.. It looks like the knife isn't slashing but the AIR is slashing..

does it really matter? It has no effect on gameplay.

Yes it does matter, atleast for me.
Anyone with a normal brain can see
that not only gameplay makes a game fun, but also the look of it. If it didn't matter, why arent the terrorists just red dots and counter-terrorists blue dots, and why isn't the C4 just a brown dot? And why aren't the hostages
just white dots? You'd probably not play CS2D at the first place because of this, and even if you do, which is highly unlikely, you'd only care about the gameplay and not the graphics, which I think is very boring.

The 2 major questions I've always had since my 2/3 year experience with CS2D:

Why is the handle of the knife red? And why doesn't terrorist number 1 and number 3 wear a mask?

And a lesser question I've always had:

Why are there redicilous shitty weapons like lasers and flamethrowers when you can make place for the Galil and Famas? (and maybe add the Tactical Shield to fill up all weapons that CS 1.6 also has) I mean, is this based on CS 1.6 or some alien game? Ditch the redicilous laser and flamethrower!

well, the only problem with that argument is that you're going sort of out of proportions. Such minor details were overlooked for almost 4 years until you brought it up so clearly it doesn't really have as much of an impact on the gameplay as say, the character skins. Of course, I don't really see what's wrong with the knife handle been brown.

Also: This game's based on cs1.5 so the Fama and the Galil haven't been added yet.

Tactical shield?

And the knife is clearly red.. Am I color blind or do you and DC and probably more have different colors for your computer (it's possible, i forgot how)? If so, red will seem as brown probably.. But clearly it shows a RED handle.. I can make a screenshot and show it to you.

Well I hope this will be changed in CS2D Max..
Maybe DC can use Dr. 1337's (jUSTiN) weapon skin, as it is more realistic then the default skin.

its brown with a red highlight. you could also say its a dark red. however my intention was to make a wooden handle.

I think this whole thread is a bit ridiculous and exaggerated

however: would be not problem for me to change this in cs2d max of course. I'll probably improve all weapon graphics (or use graphics from someone else)

old The Knife? The Graphics? A prob?

Lol I can't see how this is a problem... just download a skin pack for example my skin pack, and get this over with. Remember you can customize the graphics yourself aswell! so that knife in the "weapons.bmp" would be skinned if you just used MS Paint or something. And the knife is red, but I think that's good in a way it has never bothered me.

Otherwise I have loads of skins and reskins, if your bad at skinning.

I have a red handle on my moniter. But then again my eyes can be dodgy sometimes so that is no standard proof :D. I think it should be multi coloured so people think it's a hippy knife

It's mahogany, which is closer to brown in my opinion. And as I said before, it doesn't alter the game play significantly, or at all. The tactical shield has been brought up repeatedly before, have been discussed in another thread and is irrelevant to this topic.

Again, as DC asserted many times before. CS2D IS NOT A RIP OFF OF CS1.5, IT ONLY INHERITS CERTAIN ELEMENTS, STOP COMPLAINING IF YOU DON'T THINK IT'S GOOD ENOUGH

You don't get my point, I didn't complain, I told you what I always thought was weird since my 2/3 year experience with CS2D. Since when is a ''question'' a ''complain''?
