actually, to forward a port, you have to get the LAN IP, since the router uses that to assign each client (computers) a unique route. To find your IP, go to start>run type in cmd, press enter, type in ipconfig, and find the one title IP Address (note it has to start with 168.192.x.x and can not be 168.192.0.1, 168.192.1.1, 168.192.1.0, 169.192.0.0)

Then use that and follow through with the rest of the procedure

Note: you'll have to change the forwarding once in a while since the lanIP aren't static either.

@guest: ..., so lame that I'm not even gonna respond to you

@Diamond: Also, useing D-Link won't effect the port forwarding since the receiver is independent of the WAP. Looks lyk you have netgear?

then please stand to your word, and don't to it, would you? /Flying Lizard

It'll be under Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection and it would likely be the IPV4 address on vista.

hmm, here's how I did mine

go to http://192.168.1.1/FW_forward.htm, the default login should be admin - password.

now create a new custom forward, use whatever service name you want for it, go down to Service type and select TCP, enter 80 for both the starting and the end port, and put 192.168.1.5 in the LanIP

now do the same step as u did above, but this time use UDP and use the ports 36963 and 36963.

After that it should all work. Make sure to periodically check if your lan IP have changed or not.

It says "Service name already in use, and cannot be used twice."

Do i need to change the name?
