Do model looks all right on every stage of conversion? Did you put a texture inside sfx folder? Did you put correct path under the "model" parameter in the .inf file?
Take a look how exactly texture is stored. It should be in external file.
I think this question should be asked on Sketchup users forum, you might get better responses there!

The model looks fine in 3ds form (I checked it out in Blender) but I can't really look at it in b3d form because I don't have any program capable of viewing .b3d files.

It's irrelevant now, I read that you can use .3ds in-game and just did that. It works fine now.

Ok, I'm wiping dust ao a months old thread with question we were triing to solve, but didn't solve if I remember correctly.
About alpha canal!
I was triyng to make my texture with alpha canal! But I've tried everything but it didn't work.
It was like that: I made texture of herb. I put texture on the model (actually two crossed planes)and it worked perfectly when it was rendered in milkshape. Like this:

but ingame it looks like this:

DC or whoever has got some experiences with adding their own alpha canal textures in game - What software did you use, or what mistake do I make?

Uh... yes. I love myself.

Just try to rename your texture from "what_the_hell_goes_wrong_with_this_fucking_texture.jpg" in "what_the_hell_goes_wrong_with_this_fucking_texture_a.jpg".

So... just put "_a" at the end of the file name of your texture (I hope and think this will work).

Don't worry. I also spend hours and a lot of nerves to find that out.

Try sinus of 0.001 or something which should be nearly zero... (maybe it's particularly fixed now, but there are still some errors)

It's ok, I thought the problem is in my software, but now I know it's not. My software is ok Anyway, I'm using 3ds max, milkshape and Photoshop for textures
