Hi, I'm new to U.S.G.N., but a long time CS2D player.

I see that there are 5 or 6 new servers relating to CS2DG. Knowning that CS2DG failed and did not work, they had still made a modded server anyways.

I was just wondering if I can run my own regestered server or at least be able to run a server like the CS2DG servers.

I'm glad that CS2D has been advancing over the months and years, but I think it's time for a change. I have many created and beautiful maps that need to be played.

Talk and argue amongst this whenever you like,

THANKS.

sure, there's a few other dedicated servers already, just search for cs2dedi in this forum and make sure you've already purchased a dedicated server.

There is a thread called something like cs2dedi demo version.
there should be download links.
otherwise check out www.cs2dg.rox.pl and have a look in the Cs2Dedi thread.
cheers

well, you need a computer somewhere with high speed internet running top speed with a bunch of CPU to run the server, you don't really believe that you can just make one out of thin air do you? Those dedicated servers cost an average of 100 - 300$ a month. I'm just asking if you've already gotten one or a server that's online 24/7

lol, root server cost about 69 - 89 $, 300 dollar is very expensive and you dont need such an hardware.

the other way is, you get a sponsor...
Then they can host a server for you for free...

you can also just use a virtual server.
they can cost about 20-80 dollars a month.
but the real servers are surely better, but cost therefor more.
as reaper already said they're between 69-89.
the servers up to 300 are really good an rather a waste for cs2d

a sponsor could be a solution, but i don't think an independent cs2d clan has a sponsor which would host cs2d dedicated servers.

@marcio:
cs2dmax won't be cheatfree. every game fights against crackers (cs 1.6, cs s, bf2 etc) and their anti hack systems are way more proffessional and specially they get updated very very often.

it's just a question of time until there will be cheaters in cs2dmax

the best protection against cheaters are still human admins who take care, that every cheater gets banned.

@guest: i don`t like virtuell Servers (vServers), cuz the have some times restriction, and your server is shared with other customers, and you don`t know which application they will use, and how much CPU usage and bandwide is needed by them.

@reaper, it's off topic, but i actually don't have any problem with my vserver. i always have the ram, cpu etc for which i pay. i can reboot my vserver, i have backups and as long as you just connect per ssh it absolutely looks like a real server.
i dont know about any restrictions and i always could do everything i wanted...
