Well I had been hoping as I've worked on my newest (and probably last) map, de_TheBridge (working title, a total remake of de_bridge, view the Work-in-Progress here) that it might be able to be included as a default map in CS2D. But since you're limiting the filesize, I went and checked my unfinished full-quality version of the map image, and it's 20.0 MB uncompressed! And when by itself, if I package it in a RAR file, it's 9.55 MB! And I haven't even made the map or sprites or sounds yet!

Plus, as I've made it and realized how high-quality it is, I had planned on including multiple copies of the map image of varying quality levels, so that people with worse computer could get better frame rates. But I guess unless I can find some better compression options, there's no way I could "fit" this map, once finished, into the eventual CS2D Max download.


All I want to say is:

1 or 2 mb (zip compression) is probably the maximum size a map with all needed files should have to have a chance to be part of the download.
try to use jpg compression for the tileset and other gfx.

what I could do is to add a mappack download with selected high quality maps right at the cs2d download page. these maps would probably spread nearly as good as the maps which are included in the cs2d download itself.

That's a great idea!

I'd say make a simple download page where you can download CS2D, and another page where you can download maps and map packs! Furthermore you could inform on your website to go to FPSBanana to download CS2D maps for the CS2D community made by the CS2D community!

I agree. I think DC would be tired after CS2D Max is done and released. Making a map database on the official CS2D website would just be more work for DC and he's doing enough for us, in my opinion.
If there's one way of thanking DC for CS2D Max,
I'd just not come up with suggestions/ideas for just a couple of months after CS2D Max's release, just to let him have a good rest after his hard work.

Teleporting other players? How unrealistic is that,
and why would you want to destroy other peoples game by teleporting them to different locations?
Knowing you, you'd probably teleport them right in front of you each round and kill them.

Changing your skin as a V.I.P......

I'm not suprised if that post you just made is going to be deleted.

Alright then, if you think the teleport is stupid go tell the CS:S and CS 1.6 people they are stupid too, ok? Next that if people canp you don't need to go in and kill them.

Skin Changer is just to be fun, I thought this game was suppose to be about that, unless you like being one of those so called "MLG" players who compete and stuff

The money idea actually wasn't stupid, If you ask me,
Things should at least be always what CS 1.6, but rather similar you should tell DC he's stupid because he put in the lasers and the flamethrower, and now as he has put it in a strong melee weapon. And your saying THATs not stupid?

Oh yeah, nice way to completly critisicize other people on a forum,

Just like the fog of war, I think if both fog of war and the zoom background had same effect it'll look more better.

Anyway, is the zoom customizable? like the graphic, I'm not sure if it's a graphic. But it sure looks like it. If it's customizable, then it's cool!

And hey is that a laser sight I saw on that sniper rifle? lol.

Hmm, it would be good if the laser beam could be turned off/on. Likewise with the enemy seeing the laser beam or not.

Suggestion of console command on that.
sv_viewlaserbeam "0|1|2" (0 = both teams can see the laser beam. 1 = terrorists can see the laser beam. 2 = counter-terrorists can see the laser beam.)

Others cannot see the laser! It's only to help yourself shooting when you walk or so!
edit: or if there is a wall between your pointer and you, so that you can't shoot to your zoomed point!

This new de_bridge will most likely be my final map. I do plan to update some of my best maps, not as high-quality as this newest one, but just fix some bugs, improve a few textures, remove lasers & secrets, and basically make them "online-ready".

Maps of mine I plan to update for MAX:
-cs_druglab_2007
-de_prodigy_JW
-dm_theforest
-csde_airport
-as_prisoner_camp
-de_bankjob (1&2 - not for sure)

But I don't plan on making any player or weapon skins.
