Previously, Valve has introduced offline bot matches and tutorial mode to the world as a free version of CS:GO. Just now, they announced that CS:GO would go totally free to play, including online matches and item drops.

For those who have purchased CS:GO, they would receive a badge signifying their status, as well as a prime status upgrade.

And Valve introduced a new game mode called the Danger Zone. It is Battle Royale fitted in the fast paced FPS. All players are able to participate in this game mode. For Prime Status players, they are able to earn a MP5SD skin by playing in Danger Zone and earning 250 xp.

Even WarOwl had the same kind of disbelief, and then had to go through the revelation of it all:

New Update Live. Battle Royale & Free to Play. I'm incredibly worried about the influx of cheaters this will bring... Didn't think they would make BR considering how over-saturated it is...

In my opinion it's not a Battle Royale (18 players only really??) but a squad deathmatch gamemode as known from Battlefield 3 for examle but without respawn. Valve just took the battle royale name to get some hype around the game back as everyone does it right now.

I've played a lot of DangerZone (aka BR) with my friend last night:
Compared to regular CSGO matches, it's relaxing. At first you start with your own hands and have to find supply crates to gather weapons and tools, you can also find ammo and money.
The money can be used to buy minimap upgrades, ammo, utility and more weapons. The real scarce resource is ammo - this will be very tough for people who are just starting to play CSGO.
Despite the map size, the playable area is always shrinking and thanks to the hexagon indicators on your minimap, you can always find people to fight - and keep it action-filled.

I find it a very interesting concept, not entirely Arma/PUBG-style battleroyale, but fun nonetheless. Though I doubt it will keep people interested in that game mode for long. And maybe that's the trick: People will download the game or come back to it, just to try out the "BattleRoyale" and stay in CSGO to play the real game.

° Also cheats/cheaters problem. I don't know. Having an indefinite amount of accounts is going to make it super easy for cheat creators.
° Meanwhile Trust Factor (aka account reputation) may create a sort of "shadow ban" groups for real cheaters
> But I still think any newbie may be impacted by that, as in encountering cheaters and not wanting to play CSGO any more.

Hadn't been playing for a very long time, what's that new GUI! I like it!

About Danger Zone, I just already won a game. It is not like a Battle Royale people know, it is as different as we may not even call it "Battle Royale" and in the style of CS:GO which tastes unique. Many new features, fast-paced, smaller map, fewer players.

Before all, there is a tablet of yours which you notice when you try the game for the first time. You can spot enemies more easily with your tablet. There are hexagon shaped areas in the map; if there is a player (you're counted too) in the specified areas, they are highlighted as yellow. I have especially liked the feature of ordering items, and then drones transport them to where you are. Those drones can also be seen with your tablet. Again, with the tablet, you can track your footprints just to you know what you've been doing since the match start. By the way, drones do noise so they might make you uncovered, or your enemies when they order an item. There are hostages over the map, you can actually rescue them and gain some money in return. The safe zone is also shrinking very individually, unlike any other Battle Royale games. And many other stuff that you'll be exploring while playing.

As user VADemon does, I also find it a very interesting concept. I guess you gotta check this out at least a once, which won't take more than 10 minutes

Now everyone can test his cheats on a free account to be VAC proof?! Ridiculous.

Back in the days Valve got my telephone number for getting Prime Status. Now I got it anyway but they still got my phone number

Didn't they say Prime users will play separately though?

No, I mean that you can test your hacks in the free version and if you didnt get VACed for a certain amount of time you could try it on your paid account.

Actually Valve could use this opportunity to improve VAC and Overwatch since so much more cheater data can be gathered. But I doubt that will happen and the free version will be hack'v'hack.

Yeah but like even if they use hacks on their paid account, eventually they will get caught.
I don't play multiplayer in that game I only play VS bots (yeah I know it sounds weird), but even if I would've hacked a game I would not have used my main account even if it was 90% safe chance, I wouldn't risk it for the 10%.
Though I don't hack online games just wanted to bring that up.

And hackers spike will happen because the game is free not because they will test it on free accounts.
It's because they have accounts that are risk proof where they could just play with hacks for fun.
No one with the right mind will use his main account to hack unless he doesn't value his main account.
People who will hack using their main account are the same people who are stuck in silver (which I assume is the lowest rank).

I think the cheater problem won't be that big of a deal in the long run. Might be a rocky start, but I suspect that VACnet will only improve quicker due to the greater amount of cheaters. Machine learning is some powerful shit, but needs lots and lots of data to get better. Valve isn't stupid, they know exactly what they're doing.

In my personal experience, I haven't seen a single obvious cheater in ages, even after the new updates. Trust factor seems to still play a major role. New players will most likely have low trust factor, which may increase the chance of them seeing cheaters. Once they get to level 21 and attach a phone number to their account though, not only will they get Prime status, but that Prime status will also improve their trust factor. Until then, I pity them, for they have to settle with playing against hyper-autists.

Aside from the trust factor, it was something for me too. This definitely doesn't mean there are no cheaters but means we actually don't play regularly. Two days ago, I saw a cheater who headshotted me and my friend in seconds.

I am doing Overwatch for statistics now, if you are a new player (Rank 2) then you're pretty much guaranteed to run into a cheater with a throwaway account. And it's not like before when they were trying to hide cheats, they stand something like 55-5 K/D by the end of the game.

@user ForeverNames: entire game is free.

F2P & Demos are different types.

For Demos: Actually for free & just a short game you played, but you can actually play with bots but multiplayer are not available..

For F2P: It is Free, offline, & online but CS:GO F2P version is not a fun game.. IN CS:GO P2P Version is kinda better even though Danger Zone Mode is the worst..

Either of those are pretty boring & cheap/free but some other expensive games are kinda fun & waste you're Steam Dollars..

Some other people are rich to buy with those games & kinda autistic..

Edit: @user Mami Tomoe: It is entirely free but other games already had it on Website..
