I have been playing CS2D for a while, one main thing that differentiate CS2D from other top down shooting games is the characters sprite and this is the reason why i like CS2D more than other top down shooting games.

This post is going nuts, just deal with it, DC has spoken, so do the community, and this is not the first time.

CS2D it is perfect in its own style, and there's no need to implement a Hotline Miami style nor realistic bone structure design.

And yeah, this is an opinion, try to be less subjetive.

@user Pagyra: I think (or hope) that this is only some kind of misunderstanding. I have the feeling that you often only read/understand some parts of my posts. Might be a Language problem.

I wrote that I agree that the skins are unrealistic. That's true. But this doesn't mean that I think that they are bad.

I also wrote that I do NOT want them to be realistic and that I think that more realistic skins look ugly. I even said that I would hate such skins and that I would not like CS2D anymore with "realistic" skins.

I won't change the skins to be more realistic. It would change CS2D to something I don't want it to be.

I'm sorry if you have another vision there. Unfortunately it's impossible to fulfill the wishes of everybody.

Of course you can keep arguing but I can already tell you that you most likely won't convince me to change the skins to be more realistic.

I again

• ask moderators to do their work and remove those posts that do not follow topic - in particular if they contain a meaningless flood that does not express specific ideas, suggestions and proposals about remaking skins.

• you one more time try to read highlighted bold words from my message.

Since you do not understand me so this repetition speaks of your attentiveness and intellectual abilities on possibilities of analyzing all entire volume of incoming information - so maybe you are just busy right now and can not be distracted to correctly think about my proposals.

@user Pagyra: I will kindly ignore the fact that your last message was quite offensive. In fact I already commented the part in bold letters. Assuming that you are talking about this passage (if not please specify what you mean):
user Pagyra has written
I do not think that cartoonish style is bad, I just think that at moment in connection with new appeared possibility of HD graphic improvement it is necessary to modify old and existing skins.

This is what I responded:
DC has written
And btw: Cartoonish style can also be HD. HD doesn't mean that it needs to look realistic. Not at all. Style and resolution are not necessarily connected.

Also I'm confused about this:
user Pagyra has written
I am pleased with knowledge that you are preparing next release with addition of skins animations and some other features and bug fixes, but probably it will be not soon.
Therefore, I propose to start creation of correct skins, which in future will only need to be divided into parts to create nice animations.

That's wrong knowledge then. Where did I say that I'll work on that for the next release? I'm not planning to change the skins or their animations.

Also, the current skins are "correct" from my point of view. They are not realistic but they work as intended and they look like I want them to look. No need to change them.

Furthermore, just for your information, I also do not have any plans to replace any textures with HD versions. user SQ added the capabilities to do so but it was his idea and I'm currently not planning to make use of this.

user DC rather uses static sprites to make things goes easy because you didn't have to do it on other animation and parts, but you seem push modding into complex way which might consume a week or 3 days.

Conclusion:
So no,not gonna happen. This is not off-topic and it's just opinion.

BUT current version already supports high-detailed(HD) textures/skins/tiles. There still many bugs with it but anyway I even updated my file cs2d AIM_headshot (Updated) and now it uses 64 * 64 tiles, and i create this topic is specifically to improve standard skins of players and weapons.

This feature allows now to improve details of old skins ... and to improve their proportions and scales as well, because earlier a small resolution of images did not allow to do this. So I repeat your style can easily be saved.

I insist not on realism of skins, but on near realistic proportions and scales for skins.
That is comparison of details on standard and my cartoonish skin (32*32 pixels):

But now it can be improved.
user sonkii: This topic is not created for opinions but for suggestions and ideas.

My work is IMG:https://punkt-a.info/upload/iblock/abf/lu_98_1.jpg
and modding in CS2D is my hobby, if you need something just look into my profile.

About the topic. Realistic skins in an arcade shooter is a bad idea. Creating complex logic for hitboxes with the team of one (or two?) is even worse of an idea.

You've done your homework right with all the proportions and realism. But your skins are just skins. Nothing special about them. And your ideas of player models just don't fit the game.

About your world perception. You should take into consideration that other people have opinions. And when you share your work with the Internet you'll always get a dozen of judgmental views on the topic you were posting about.

It's your job to see through every comment. It's up to you to agree or disagree. But you can not just ignore person's thought. Especially when everyone keeps telling you the same.

This is not correct skin - that is just my cartoonish skin which I made in response to a request from user Gaios and user Masea for their awesome RPG mods - I presented it only as an example of details for 32*32 skin, may be later in near future I will try to make HD skin in same style.
I think that in USDE community there are enough artists who can offer their options (vision) of skins which made in same close to original style.
So you can even declare a skin contest for this.
But this topic was created precisely for proposal of ideas and suggestions for implementation of conceived.
When i'm looking at standard skins i see basically there problems of proportions and scales.
But probably someone sees any other shortcomings or errors of standard skins.
So i ask you to express there your ideas and suggestions for that.

Well, you can just create a realistic skin pack for CS2D and upload it, so that everybody who wants realistic skins could go and download them.

If somebody wants cartoonish skins, then they can just go with the default skin set. I see no problem with that.

This is not like "asking for ideas and suggestions" thread, for me at least. You're telling us about the "number of illogicality (specificity) of standard skins cs2d in comparison with real parameters" and "CS2D need correct player and weapon skins and change hit position to drawn image." Where do "I need ideas and suggestions" go? It's more like your opinion towards current skins and that's it. Now this is how the community reacted to your opinion, but you're going for "this topic is not created for opinions but for suggestions and ideas."

Well if you're asking for a suggestion, I suggest you to do something about your "making another game as your game" habit and just make your own game with your HD textures, realistic scales, etc. Well it's not entirely suggestion to this thread but fuck it. But if you're really looking for a real suggestion, then do what user Infinite Rain said.

Why all of you do not know how to read?
I'm not talking about creating realistic skins, I'm talking about the fact that thanks to new opportunities, it's now possible to improve existing skins, that they have proportional and correct scales.

For third time I ask moderators to delete off-topic messages.

So instead of rallying up the community to decide whether to create and use realistic skins you just want to talk about that it's now possible and that's it?

@user Pagyra: , please release your mod on this web-site, I think a lot of players will like it. This is how you can show them that your style can fit too, instead of flaming in your own thread.

You can improve skins using 64x64 images instead of 32x32 using the current skin fashion, I guess. But, modifying skins fashion you change how the game feels completely, and by what DC said, it also changes it's complexity. So if you want to change the game so much maybe you're better off making your own game as someone already suggested...

You have made that extremely clear and DC and the rest of the community has made it extremely clear why it's not a good idea to add these "ultra realistic" skins to the game, "Why you do not know how to read?"

It seems like you have this absurd view of the world that everybody except for you is a mindless moron, that's not healthy.
I'm only seeing one mindless moron that keeps on repeating himself in this thread.

You first said that

then you just say

I did create this topic not in order to listen to someone's opinion about what he likes and what does not.

So you want us to discuss whether or not CS2D should have really realistic player models without expressing any opinion? What?
Then you just go
user Pagyra has written
So i ask you to express there your ideas and suggestions for that.

So you DO want us to express our opinions, give ideas and suggestion but also don't?
Make up your fucking mind.
