What a mess this thread was, now that it is cleansed, hopefully everyone will actually tell their opinions about anime.
I suggest Ergo Proxy to everyone who are interested in weird psychological stories.

Lets see. I won't be naming Rx titles as I believe you're not looking for those.

Here's a few, I'll try naming ones that are more notable for me. If you'd like to find out more, you can look at this list which I'm trying to be as good as possible as I suggest anime for quite a few people :3
Anyways, here's a few titles I liked.
Angel Beats - has a great story, is very well drawn and I just generally enjoyed the character designs.
Btooom! - is a bit aimed to portray real life except that there's a fantasy element and obviously... boobs. Still, the concept was pretty nice and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
C:The Money of Soul and Possibility Control - generally it's about money and may not be interesting all the time but it was quite nice for me.
Code Geass - I'm not really into mecha genre but for some reason, I enjoyed this anime a lot. The design is good, the story is good (most of the time) and the ending leaves you wondering what actually happened. I rewatch this A LOT and I cry everytime at the end (no idea why, I just do )
Death Note - ahh, by far one of the best. Definitely a must-watch.
Highschool DxD - if you're into boobs, boobs and also boobs, then this is what you're looking for. I have no idea how it's so popular to have 3 seasons when it's JUST BOOBS and fighting. Well, when you have nothing else to watch, this might just do...
Kaichou wa Maid Sama - a very nice romance genre anime. It also has comedy which I enjoyed a lot.
Kokoro Connect - add a fantasy element to school life and you'll get this. People switching bodies, being able to read other's minds isn't as cool as it sounds. It's a good anime!
Irregular at Magic High school - one of my favorites. Maybe because I usually act like the MC, beside being a super overpowered and heck of a genius.
Mirai Nikki - if you're into mystery and especially, yandere (you could say "a psycho lover, willing to kill everyone if it means she'll get to have you all to herself") and you enjoy watching anime with fantasy elements, this is it.
No Game No Life - it's not something mindblowing but I enjoy watching a genius beating the games
Shinsekai Yori - if you look at the promo poster of this, you'll think it's really simple. Dull school life at countryside. Yet I found this oddly grabbing me. I started watching and completed it within two days with only sleep interrupting. Quite odd for anime that's not action packed.

There's quite a few more to list but I'm starting to feel that I've been writing too long. Anyways, you might also want to check out SAO 2 (GGO arc),AoT,Steins;Gate, Tokyo Ghoul, Psycho Pass, Ouran High school host club, No. 6 and Nisekoi. I'm sure I still didn't name enough but I usually find anime on myanimelist.net and on animeph.com (this one compiles a list of what's going to air, together with the anime promo videos, I usually decide to check it out depending on the visuals and poster)

I think Highschool DxD had great soundtrack though, stupid story about a perverted Japanese boy.
Death Note has great quotes that makes you think too, I really liked that one with an exception of events before the ending.(I guess greed about being god finally blinded Light?)

Light Yagami has written
I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT

Quite deep indeed.

Jokes aside, it's very nice and I agree with you. The end events were more of a trust fail rather than his own mistake. He shouldn't have given the note to that other guy. The best part was L and Light working together, when

If you only starting to watch animes, I would suggest you titles such as Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, Death Note. These are the ones people usually start with, or at least those titles are the most popular ones.

I fucking hated Sword Art Online, but hey, it's only me.

Here are some I enjoyed a lot:
Psycho Pass (has two seasons and movie will be released in several days)
Zankyou no Terror (best anime of 2014 IMO)
Parasyte (you should NOT miss that one)
Aldnoah Zero (has some obvious plot holes, but they aren't as noticable)
Suisei no Gargantia (really well-made anime, too much to explain, just go watch it)
Mirai Nikki (really fucked up, but also really enjoyable)
No game No life (one of the best animes I've watched in 2014)
Clannad (really dramatic anime, first season might be boring, but second season is what you want)
Code Geass (this one is one of the best)

Enjoy.
