@topic: Your ping depends on a geographic distance to server you're playing on. Player from Africa will never have a good ping when playing on european server.
Doraemon: Ping is an indicator. It tells you how long a message needs from you to the server and back. In milliseconds (1000 milliseconds = 1 seconds).
So if you have a ping of lets say 100 then this means that all your actions reach the server with a delay of 50 ms (100 / 2 because the ping contains two ways).
Games become unplayable if the ping is bad because the delays are too high.

Mora: CS2D (and any other shooter) is completely unplayable with pings that high. 6000 would mean that it takes THREE SECONDS until anything you do reaches the server. Your enemies must either be sleeping or have the same shit ping otherwise there is no way you can win with this. When you kill someone with an AWP shot (which must be pure luck or he must be standing still for quite long) it will take SIX SECONDS until you see him going down after firing your shot (with a ping of 6000).@
THEMUD: You should always pick servers in the serverlist with many green bars because you have a good connection/ping to these servers. Order by latency and join the best ones.Other than that there's not much you can do. Your location surely has a huge impact on the ping. You get the best ping when the server your are joining is geographically close to you. Maybe there are no good servers hosted in your region. Of course someone who joins a US server from the US will get a much better ping than you even if you both have about the same quality of connection. It's always about distance as well.

So don't be sad that your ping is 140-150 (your ping is not bad at all).

Doraemon: The ping is the measure of responding messages the host between player and the server.It mean the player and the server is comunicating together.
For example if someone has 1500 ping then the player is comunicating slowy between the server and it will lead to lags but also to connection problem and crash.
Not such a good answer that i gave but you will understand a little.
Doraemon: It makes NO sense to ask if you are allowed to ask a question because that way you already asked another (pointless) question. This thread is about pings.
