Along with development my Modern Warfare TDS game, I'll be developing the Top Down Version of Quake 3 Arena but it will be called:

Your new mantra: Fight or be finished.

Story: For all who don't know, Quake 3 Arena is an Arena type shooter where there's only one goal; WIN!It's where High Ranking Warriors are turned into mush. This is the place where all the types of mercenaries, assassins, soldiers and the like come together for team based games or just simply a free for all to death. You face traps, lava pits and more all for the chance to be the best shooter of all time. This is the game that sparked every first-person shooter known to man, except for Wolfenstein 3d.


Features: The game is going to be Top-Down Shooter(TDS) and I plan to add the following features.

Weapons
∗ Lightning Gun
∗ Machine Gun
∗ Rocket Launcher
∗ Grenade Launcher
∗ Rail Gun
∗ Shotgun
∗ The Gauntlet
∗ BFG10K(RARE)

Artificial Intelligence
In this type of game, the AI will actually have to be smart and know what it's doing. I plan to have the AI actually search for you rather than roam and "happen" to find you, find weapons and show you no mercy. If I add a campaign, It will be just like quake 3 with different levels with a set of ai and the bosses.

SinglePlayer
This is will be a simply objective. Each stage wil have 4 people you will have to face one on one. Once you beat the 4 people you get to the boss. Once you beat him/her, you will go to the next stage and repeat. Maybe I'll add some game modes like TDM and Deathmatch later to occupy you.

Multiplayer:
This will be the complex part. I will have an assortment of game modes here. I'll post here later for more info.

Maps
As far as maps go I will try to recreate some of the map in Quake in 2D form. Don't worry, the traps and the lava and etc will be in the game as well. The hard part will be the complexity and how each map should be set in a way that it will interest the player and make it challenging.


Characters
As far as art the characters will be 32 by 32
I may have to take account into the body sizes
I will add some quake 3 characters like:
∗ Mynx
∗ Crash
∗ Grunt
∗ Hunter
∗ Anarki

√ I may need help making these characters though, so if any one is willing.

Core/Overview: So to sum it up the Game will have
∗ Single Player
∗ Multi-Player
∗ Characters
∗ Fast-Paced Action
∗ Weapons
∗ HD sound
much much more!

Why don't you make a Quake 1 TDS? I think nobody has done that yet. Or an Unreal TDS, or Unreal Tournament TDS, or Doom TDS would be neat. Y'know.

.Unreal tournament sounds good. I already have the base.

And @user Pagyra: your mod looks nice.
@user FlamingPhoenix: my main focus is still Modern Warfare. This is just a little side project.
