Ok, it came to me in a dream last night.

This patch for SHIFT sprinting will be standard for all future downloads. Drop the 2 tiny files below in your /mods/sys folder and replace the old as usual.

> game.inf
> units.inf

You need BOTH FILES as they work together to solve the lag spike. I would still like feedback if it is fixed or much better, for those who have this issue.

P.S. Thank you all for the feedback with this long-time issue. The pressure to fix this issue has been on-going. Due to "age" of the Blitz engine and newer operating systems compatibility, I do not believe it can get any better than this patch.

Heya Wintermute,
The water pump spring will now fill back up when it rains for next update. Destroying the pump and rebuilding it to get water again I would consider an "exploit".(very nice find indeed) So I have fixed that. Now if you destroy the pump, the spring rock is also destroyed along with it.

Tried this solution and it has little effect, perhaps a little better. Massive mod seems to work fine for me which just seems odd. How would i alter the normal moving speed to something higher just to balance it out for now?

Hi olieo,
Yeah MM script for sprint does not work for this mod because it is modified to reduce or increase your speed depending on your weight capacity. sorry bro.

Hello belze, welcome.
To make a barrel for the water pump you must first work iron and steel to level up enough to unlock the STEEL BAR. once you unlock the STEEL BAR (place soft steel nugget on anvil and hit with a hammer) you need to make the STEEL BAR and place the STEEL BAR on the ANVIL and hit it with a HAMMER.

If you unlocked STEEL BAR already you may need to simply "scroll" the menu down to see it.

Get the green crystals...smash them into silica dust with a hammer or stone, then pour the dust into a "Hardened Glass Mold" made from clay...bake it in the kiln oven and it returns 1 glass pane.

p.s. The glass mold will unlock at a higher "pottery" skill level. You should work with the clay items to advance this skill.

also note: The DIARY in the menu will show most all combinations if you click the TABS - information/operations/crafting/introduction...click/tick the CRAFTING at the top.

Hi,
love the game, but can i have some suggestions?

Lion/wolf/bear can be easily killed while stuck behind a tree or fence (or through a hut wall). IDK if its by a design to make it easier, but i wouldn't probably try to kill a lion with stone hammer... what about increasing the animals reach a bit so you can't just bludgeon it to death from a safe spot behind 20cm wide tree?
Simmilar thing with shark: just shank him from the shore, he'll bleed out eventually. I get it wit pirahnas, it doesn't seem to be that horrible plan, but shark? could he get some boundaries so he can't swim through shore so that he couldn't be killed from it? i didn't try if you can safely attack it from vehicles....

some more things that i noticed, some were mentioned before:
when i cut ice during winter, every time i step on the edge of the shore, i get teleported under the water into the hole i made (=instantly wet and frostbitten), only way to get out of it is to run and jump over the edge on the shore...
i sometimes get fall dmg from performing random actions.
while mining with iron pickaxe, you don't see health of a rock but it can be destroyed (steel pickaxe works fine).
xp for pottery is 25 for kiln even if you put 10 bottles or 1, shouldn't there be a difference? or some fail rate depending on skill level?
potato has description hungar instead of hunger.
shark fin soup recipe in crafting contains whole shark...could that be more specific?
during winter, all trees bear fruit.
fishing from raft makes you fall into water through the raft... wawes moving with the raft probably don't cope with the fishing action...it looks nice but for fishing purposes would be better to remove waves?

(sry, i'm not from US, my english isn't probably at its best)

Just an old fan passing by. Just a small thing : I've been hoarding bows and longbows from the savages my whore play-trough . I was thinking of making a use out of it , it is true bows break but not enough to need 100 of them, so my idea would be to either sell them to the pirate as " junk " , for a very small amount of gold , or use them as fuel for the fire. Please reply with your toughs, will this be considered unbalanced/game-breaking/ OK . Any kind of feedback will be greatly appreciated.

At first I want to say hello to everybody, as it's my first post on this forum

As I started to playing Stranded 2 with that mod I found it very challenging. Don't get me wrong, I like when I need to fight for my live in survival game ( that's the point of survival game, right? ) but there's problem with food poisoning. I've created 2 diffrent islands at Normal difficult and at both of them i've just poisoned myself with water and/or bread given to my at start of game. Was it planned to be that way? Because I'm dying at day 2 just because of eating fine loaf of bread.
Also bug with fall damage when I'm walking on a flat terrain but from your post I've seen that you've fixed it, so I'm waiting for update.

Hmm... I think water was uncooked. But I was poisoned as I was throwing up, making excrements and loosing health. Also that green fog that was coming behind me. Without ability to get charcoal or antidote I died. For now I've discovered that insects can be considered as a good option of food for newbie like me( also slime as I can get it by just searching in bark).

As you replied, maybe you can help me, providing me with few survival tips, like where I can find a flint?

@user Mirthilias:

Sometimes i found flint just laying on the ground randomly, but else it drops from stone deposits. I would suggest fishing at the start if you manage to make a rod. Big difference for me also made making a few buckets, while laying on the ground they catch rainwater, so 4 of them made me after one rain source of water for a week, finally i could stop munching on leaves water through can be used the same and i think you don't need forging for it

New Huge Update Posted! 08-01-2016- download from the top of page 1 or any of my signatures, as usual.

Here is a snapshot of the new tribe natives you can now tame. Just follow the ingame text splashes and read the menus once you talk to one. The native in the middle is a male worker, and then the other 2 are a male and female warrior (archers). Sometime after day 5 you could find one of the first friendly natives, they do not wear blue cloths until you tame them.

Here is the changelog. Enjoy!
√After further tests I decided to lower the "fire light" a bit. It was simply way to bright and way unrealistic.(complete)
√Lowered the sound of the ocean waves a bit, not so annoying.(complete)
√The long and short bow can be broken-down. Drop it on the ground and hit it, returning the bendable branches/cords.(complete)
√Updated the Printable Instruction Manual and Diary Text File with the latest update/changes.(complete)
√A "progress bar" added to fall injury, so you cannot move while in a "blackout".(complete).
√A random "ghost" injury and a random "wet" state when near water, has been addressed. Should be fixed this update.(complete)
√Sharkfin Soup adds +5 health, burns less when cooking, and returns some of the fish meat if the pot cracks. Making it a better "value" to pursue.(complete)
√Bottles of poison returning a empty bottle bug.(complete)
√Burned foods sometimes do not disappear like intended when using the combinations with clay pot/pan. fixed(complete)
√Shells and Starfish disappear from inventory upon winter bug.(complete)
√Bug fix with the advanced backpack reading weight inaccurately causing players speed to be out of sync.(complete)
√New sound file. When catching larger fish (bass, rainbow) the water splashes much more.(complete)
√New sound files added. When you have an injury, or use a bed to heal, you will randomly grunt in pain.(complete)
√When injured, your speed will be reduced like when getting "wet".(i.e. wet speed jade -0.2). If you are wounded the jade is -0.3 for 8 hours, a fracture is -0.4 for 12 hours.(complete)
√Added new bed system info to the Diary/Operations.(complete)
√New bed system for healing injury, and sleeping bonus. Gives a blood regeneration bonus if detected when sleeping. When beds are "used"...the higher the level bed, the faster you will heal an injury: wound or fracture.(complete)
√Added 2 New bed models. Primitive bed (level 1), Sleeping Bag bed (level 2). The original Hammock bed is now rated as (level 3)...the bed was removed from the Wooden House and is now a (level 4) bed.(complete)
√New item and combo added to the diary: Sleeping Bag Roll=cotton/wool+dryhide+cord. A rolled up sleeping bag that can be carried and deployed at will...like the tent. When "used" the bag is deployed in front of you where your standing, to sleep or heal at.(a level 2 bed)(complete)
√Adjusted the spawning of Bee Hive Trees (medium red wood). At start of a new map...increased from 1-2 possible spawns to 2-3 possible spawns. Also at least 1 or 2 spawn on day 1 at ground level. (complete)
√Beekeepers will become "dormant" and not function during the Winter season and honey bees will die...unless in a greenhouse. The greenhouse can house only 1 beekeeper.(complete)
√Catching bees with a hand-net will now store them in your inventory.(like butterflies do) Killing them still returns "insects" for loot. Releasing them near a beekeeper building turns them tame and they will stay near the keeper building.(complete)
√New building Beekeeper added (built from the hammer build menu). Will allow taming of wild bees into Honey Bees. Releasing bees near a beekeeper will increase production of Honeycomb.(complete)
√A beehive is required as a building item, along with 10 bark, 4 short handles, and 8 iron nails.
√New unit Honey Bee added.
√New beekeeper info added to the diary/operations.(complete)
√All clay models "model placeholders" have been replaced to actual clay item models. (i.e. iron pot, iron pan)(complete)
√Destroying the water pump and rebuilding it on a underground spring exploit is now fixed. Once empty...you will have to wait for rain to fill the underground spring for the pump to function again. If you destroy the pump the spring rock will be destroyed also.(complete)
√The lag spike when pressing SHIFT to sprint has been addressed for the final time. (complete)
√Getting salt water with a bottle at the ice holes is now fixed(complete)
√ 9 new tree models. Clones of all fruit bearing trees that yield will no fruit in the winter season.(complete)
√Fruits disappearing from inventory during winter is now fixed by scripts replacing the fruit trees with clones upon winter, and back again in spring.(complete)
√The regular Native model will coincide with the upcoming female Native. Both having "friendly" roles, and also "tamable" to build your own tribe over time.(complete)
√The regular Male Native and regular Female native model added, and given friendly roles. Trade proper items with them to tame them...making them your very own tribesman.(complete)
√As the Tribe leader you have to care for the hunger needs tribesmen. Not doing so could eventually lead to their death from starvation.(complete)
√Create scripts that make the male and female native unique in friendly roles, and engage-able by the player.(complete)
√Script the male and female native to respond to a few commands the player can order. Such as: Work, Come, Go, Stay. (complete)
√Tribe workers perform duties if you supply them with the proper item in their inventory. Like to fish they need bait, hooks and a fishing pole in their inventory, and be ordered at the shoreline. To cook they need a knife, raw meats and be ordered at the Grill. Forge they need iron, soft iron, coal dust, at a Forge. Then you simply retrieve any yield from there inventory over time, until they run out of those supplies.(complete)
√Your tribe will have a limit to size and roles. Meaning you may tame up to 3 total Natives where there can only be 1 workers, and 2 warriors max. 1 worker allows taming 2 warriors, As you will need to care for each of the 2 warriors, which will require the help of 1 worker.(complete)
√The first possible worker will spawn randomly after day 5. There is equal chance it could be the male or female. If you want the opposite sex worker you can just kill it...as they will randomly spawn 1 over time(there will only be 1 on the map at any time). Engage it in trade will initiate an invitation to join your tribe.(complete)
√Tribe workers and warriors will be accommodated by instructable ingame messages.(complete)
√When your rucksack is full, some items seem to disappear when they are to be added to your supplies.(they are found in the center of the map) Tracking a few more of these items down that I have missed...they are to drop in front of the player if your rucksack is full.(complete)
√The tribesman Warrior can be commanded to GO, ,COME,STAY, and DEFEND. Setting a tribesman to DEFEND they will attack any hostiles that come within 1100 meters.(complete)
√The tribesman Worker can be commanded to GO,COME,STAY, and WORK. Setting the worker to WORK he can perform 3 tasks. Cooking,Fishing,Forging.(complete)

Shouldn't "waverate" and "minwavespace" variables in game.inf be higher value? Both values are 1 (2500, 300 in 05-06-16). Maybe you forgot to set it back, after wave sound volume testing?

nah. those relate to the amount of light a fire gives off and how far it spreads, dissipates, and flickers. I just forgot to add it to the changelog. I have lowered the campfire & torches light because I been testing it in real life building some fires with my daughter out in our fire pit...realized the lighting ingame was way off.
