The Lua key hook stuff causes additional network traffic as well but the keys you want to listen to in Lua have to be defined first with cs2d lua cmd addbind. So under normal circumstances (without calling addbind) there is no additional traffic.

So for your request I would have to add commands to enable/disabling listening to certain UI events and also the hooks (and unlike the keys - which are all in one place - those are in different places and work very differently for all the stuff you mentioned). I don't think that the feature is important enough to justify the required efforts. Therefore it's unlikely that I'll add it.

no borders to do quality and better stuff. Let Server-hoster decide themself how much they let their players download. Why they need to crop music or image files? I think this would allow more quality stuff for cs2d. Better than limit each file it would be more useful to show the player how much he has to download, if he want to join this server.
Maybe allow a small server-description when holding mouse over it?

Question: what is the difference between 100x 250kb files and
10 x 2.5mb files?
Answer: you´re able to download the 10 files faster and the work of cropping stuff and put it together with lua, so that every player sees it wont be anymore. Also player will enjoy the better quality.

So nope, won't reduce the limit.
But you are right: Many small files are just as annoying as some big files. Could maybe be improved by setting an overall size limit (for all files) instead of a per-file limit.

I understand you DC that downloading files is not cool, but the customization of CS2D is a big fun part which you have created and we love to play. Many people love these custom servers. Some Gamestyles wouldnt be the same without these files. And I bet a lot of people would love to create fancier stuff, just these borders are restricting us in some ways.

As far as I know there is a command in
sys_ticrate
in CS 1.6 and CS:GO.

since good servers left cs2d the players did too, I always wanted to see cs2d full of players again, but the stingy dc does not want to spend money. is understandable in any case, I do not criticize you.

• I don't know about role playing. I'm not a fan of that and therefore I wouldn't be the right person to host and maintain such a server

Also I'm pretty sure that spending money to host even more servers would just lead to more empty servers and wasted money but not more players.

Yes can be done on x... but suddenly the x button the player anything not tied down?

For example, the hook voice will return parameters such as :
1 : id : player ID
2 : status : status press or release as in hook key
3 : team : does the player in team voice speak or not?
