Well well... lol.
DC took about 3 years for Stranded 2. Considering, that S3 is supposed to be even more extensive (+ Multiplayer, so on) and have much better graphics + that it's going to be coded in a new programming environment for DC, expect it to take some time.
Don't forget that DC also attends university and has even less time because of that. So bring patience.

But I'm planning to blog all steps of development and to provide even early Alpha builds for public download. Not like I did it for Stranded II where the Alpha was in a pretty late development stage already when I showed it.
I don't really want to talk about my multiplayer plans (or any other plans) in detail now because I don't want to arouse expectations that I can't satisfy in the end.
And as I saw Ogre3d is the best for stranded III as it has very nice effects especially water effects.
And if SIII will really have a multiplayer support the game will be about 5x better as play with friends is always better than play alone.
Edited: If you want my opinion, I think the best kind of multiplayer is the one where you can do everything with your friends (play in an adventure, single islands or just a death match). Not like in some games where you can just play with a friend in an especific game mode.
