So you want him to give the source code to people that want stupid shit like a microphone chat which would ultimately ruin the game and therefore no one would play it? - That's some serious dedication there, bro.

You are idiot, because he is right. These "stupid" features will involve more people into CS2D.

Sorry for Off-Topic but:

@user oxytamine: Sure, who doesn't love little kids that make strange noises on public servers with their high-pitched voices. It's great and very helpful and will attract a huge number of new players for sure. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Built-in voice tool usage in public games:
• 80% make strange noises
• 15% flame
• 5% say something that is actually useful

Built-in voice tool usage in clan wars:
• Built-in voice tools are not used at all. Teamspeak or something else is used.

Add more weapons! - What did DC do? Add more weapons.

What do people want? More, fucking, weapons. They don't understand that by adding more and more weapons the game would be fucked up and no longer play-able with all these shit-load of useless weapons. I wouldn't like to play a game which has 100 pistols and 500 rifles.
Plus the idea about adding custom NPCs, why the hell would you want that? - Add some random NPC which has alien eyes and farts a rainbow which kills everyone in 1 hit. Sure, you go do that. But no one would play on such childish servers (Except the kid that made the server) and eventually the game would die out.

I disagree. Making a game as modifiable as possible is a good thing. Adding all that Lua stuff to CS2D was one of the best things I could do.

And therefore the mod community loves CS2D.

Amen

Would you play on a server which has an alien-eyed NPC which farts rainbows? I guess not. - Because if you add custom NPCs. That's what you will get.

I do agree that adding Lua was the best thing you could have done. Yet Lua is there for a great reason, custom NPCs is not, it will just be misused and it's a waste of time.

You'll always get bad and good stuff when allowing users to create and modify stuff. That's how it works.

Nobody forces you to play on servers that use strange rainbow NPCs but maybe someone creates something that is real fun.

So you will allow custom npcs? I think that making tha map editor moddable with lua would be great, like adding new enititys or new function.

This.
I think its a good idea integrating the game into steam, you will get many more players to play it this way.

And a lot of childish noobs which can ruin this amazing game

we already have a lot of them, so it won't change the situation, but copyright would be a problem.

Made my day!

Also, I don't think CS2D is dying.

Do you seriously think that it is possible to create such a game (alone!) without serious dedication? In that case you have absolutely no idea about game development.

without serious dedication? i'm saying exactly the opposite.

Just because people who play the game are kids doesn't mean they are the ones who are going to be developing it. im sure more mature people from gamedev for example would me more glad to chip in on a project that may be profitable to them in the future.

Make CS2D modifiable for experts but not so modifiable that kids can modify random crap there, it would ruin the game. I think CS2D is already modifiable enough with lua.

Seriously, if CS2D is modifiable for kids, then our serverlists would be filled with loads of annoying childish servers.

modding a game and hosting a server are two completely different things.
