Yay! An os argument!!

More like a discussion
user Apache uwu has written
Windows: Primary the reason it is the most used operating system throughout and in my opinion the better os is because there are more people using it. More people means more manufactures making applications and drivers for it. This also means the increase in viruses, but really, that's not an argument, if you don't watch porn 5 times a day I doubt you will get any viruses.

Primary reason is because you find it in $99-PCs which last about 1 month of normal usage. Windows may have thousands of times more apps but it can do the same with Mac. 10.000 apps for Windows, 1 for Mac that does what every other app do. Less apps = No trials, demos etc. Drivers. Macs don't have a single driver. Plug and play. Hard to imagine it, right?
About viruses. 20k new viruses, maybe more per week!
And AVs slow down computer and anyway you're always vulnerable to attacks.

Windows and Linux generally kills mac because Windows can do all the gaming and the occasional business work. And Linux does everything else. Seriously I do all my scripting and web based testing on it. Then when I want to see the finished product I go on Windows and view it. (Ex. Cs2D dedi on ubuntu, Cs2D client on Windows) I just don't see where the mac fits in.

Mac is #1 in business because not only it has Microsucks Office but it has the amazing iWork platform as well.
Here's the problem. Why to use 2 OS' when you get all at one OS? Besides if you want to use Windows or anything else you can run them with bootcamp (2+ OS, choose on boot) or what I do, run them all in Parallels Desktop (3 OS' run at the same time and I got not a single performance issue!).

user Apache uwu has written
Mac gets owned when it comes to gaming, as referenced in paragraph #1, and also doesn't come close to completing office tasks.

Macs are #1 Office Software. Microsucks Office + iWork = PC Killer, Linux Killer etc. As for gaming, now with the AppStore for mac, lot's of Devs make games for Mac, plus you can play all those games already existing for Mac. All good games are for Mac as well or you can run them on a Mac.

user Apache uwu has written
I'll tell you what the mac is about. Selling you products that potentially you don't want, and even if you did want it, it is much cheaper to purchase it on a Windows. (Since porting from operating systems is more expensive)

As previously mentioned, software for Mac is way cheaper. Although most computer users get everything free (you know what I mean?).

user Apache uwu has written
Bottom line is that the only thing I see in the mac is the flashy gui, and overall interface design. If I wanted eye-candy I can just install a theme pack for ubuntu, it
actually looks much nicer.

Themes just slow down computers.
Yes Macs are far more beautiful than PCs or Linux'

Mac upgrades cost 10-20$ while if I want to go from Vista to 7 I have to fork out over 150$.
[...]

Of course it costs that much, because a Mac update is released from month to month and doesn't change mainly nothing... just like iPhone 1 > 2, 2 > 3 and 3 > 4.
Mac does only care about design, you can't upgrade it to get a descent gaming computer, or even a server one, Mac doesn't have compatibility, only bullshit apps for limited users that actually click on a button and open a beaultiful and full-detailed interface with soft edges and gay lighting effects to distract their empty brains, those interfaces can actually do everything, because you have iMac, iGay, Exclusive AppStore and iRetard's inovating interface & design system...

Seriously, stop that bullshit.
Mac • OS for artists who care mostly about design and practicality than to performance and compatibility.

Windows • An Operating System that can do almost everything as itself (still Linux can do everything if you're an advanced user...) and run almost anything you want, such as games, programs, and even emulate other operating systems, you need a better desktop to run it, but what is U$1000,00 for a Mac user?
Mac = U$2000,00 to run and play almost anything. (but wait! you have exclusive features -- please note that i was being sarcastic).
Windows = U$1000,00 to run and play mostly anything. (costs around 1000 dollars to build a amazing gaming desktop -- and gaming desktops run mostly everything).

DEAL WITH IT.

Once in a year or two.

Linkin Park used Macs for all their cover art, websites and music editing/making. You need a lot of power to make music.

I don't need my computer for gaming. I need it for office work and music making.
Office - you have iWork, with every Mac, while with PCs you need to buy Office separately.
Music - iLife, again with every Mac, something Windows users don't have.
Basically, a price of a Mac is 1000$ - 400$ (for the programs and OS, they cost much more but I am being symbolic here) = 600$
A price for a decent PC. Decent, while Macs are exceptional.
I couldn't care less of your spoilers, because I can't be silent when someone is talking madness.

The only thing I would ever buy a mac for is for Multimedia, like DJing etc.

In all other things PC are much more flexible and better.

You don't know something well here. This is not the case.
Monthly Mac Updates are like Windows' Service Packs. NOT new Operating Systems. Lion was released this summer, and the previous version, Snow Leopard came out in 2001. And it costs $29. Not $999 like Windows.

iPhones are released every 1 year, not like other companies with 1 every hour.

Ouch.
Snow Leopard was released in 2009 or 2010. The first OSX was released in 200, called Cheetah (the first EVER was Mac OS X Server 1.0 in 1999). SL is the sixth.

RIP Steve Jobs, even though I have always hated Apple iMacs and probably will until the day I die, you did a great job of bringing Apple back in the 90's, and your marketing was always very enjoyable.
I like Apple iMac's though and those who created it is great. It's a good operating system, I like the applications that follows with the Apple iMac such as Garage Band, and the webcam utilities on it and so forth. The OS has all the potential to be one of the best out there at the moment, unless you somehow dislike AppleScripting or other features within the OS. It's sad that Apple lost Steve Jobs, he was a good man. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

• Here's a link to a Apple iMac video.

I'm comparing Windows ONLY to gaming, please read my post.

I'm then comparing Linux to the mac.

Saving Windows does all the gaming, and Linux does all the office work. Leaving Mac in the dust.

Umm, Linux sucks for office work, Windows and Mac are ace in it. And Mac is awesome for multimedia, and that's no dust.

There are just as good freeware programs for multimedia for Windows/Linux as there are for Mac.
With a Mac, you're paying an insanely high pricetag for a not-so-powerful computer (Which may be fine, depending on what you're doing, but you're still paying more), and a non-advanced OS which is mainly just eyecandy and design, with a computer itself which may look smooth, but that's half of what you're paying for (and the all-white theme annoys the hell out of me). Even if a Mac-computer costed the same as a dual-boot Windows/Linux-computer, or even just a Windows-computer, there are still a multitude of advantages they have. For example, a flexible, possibly verbose OS, lots of support and software due to many users being on Windows, not Mac, speed for gaming or what-not, and equal ease of tasks which Apple boasts about being extremely hard on non-Mac computers, such as networking or installing the OS itself (Talking about Windows here, not Linux). If anything, Macs are better for people with a large wallet and no technical knowledge and no interest in gaining it.

You have never used Ubuntu. And what do you mean by multimedia? Windows can run any video editing software (more manufactures--more products for Windows), so it means Windows would be better at it.

I installed Ubuntu twice, and wiped my HD clean to get rid of it. Twice. I've used more OSes then you can imagine.
