Being administrator is not fun, nor lazyness. But you got these buttons to switch things around and ban & stuff else on the right side of each post.

I know,same as moderator.
I was just wondering how it looks on unrealsoftware

not same as moderator. Moderator and admin is difference.

Moderator got limited powers and takes care of one thing while admin monitors everthing.

we had pics of that before. I don't want to take pics again. maybe it's still in the forum somewhere.

but you can be sure about one thing: it sucks because all those kids steal stuff from each other and flame each other and I actually don't give a shit and I don't want to care about it

It's your fault, as long as you keep this community with "for kids only" label.

I saw some screens before.

Beside every profile there is a ban hammer button and you can temp ban (mod) or perma ban (admin) people...

Also beside every post you can mark as spam, flame, illegal, and add a message (red box).

And beside every topic you can delete, lock, mark as sticky and other neat stuff.

When I find those screens I'll try to post them if you are curious.

I was wondering about hardware infrastructure..
Where is the US.de server being hosted... In a root server or in home? What are the required resources.

I lol'd @ home. DC rented a dedicated server (--I think--)...

I assume that because of the Income / Expenditures (Small income from ads, lot's of money for dedi) and of course the big crash on USGN a year ago or so because more than 300 people logged in (304). I dedi can handle 304 connections.

Yates + Admin = Error 404

Yeah being an admin is a lot of work. Its boring, and on an average community it sucks.

Fellow Oxyfork, I can assure you that none of mods (or admin) here are online maniacs and live virtually all day to care about all the shit in the forum.

All the freeware games are full of kids, just a note.
Yeah, let's make U.S.G.N system (necessary to play the game) a membership for 5$ a month and all the kiddies will be gone, I guess that's about 80-90% of players by the way.

wtf.. to clarify a few things:

• this community has no "for kids only" label. we actually don't even allow people which are less then 13 years old (see registration page). but kids seem to like the games so there are many kids.

• the usgn never crashed because 304 people logged in. there were crashes for other reasons of course.

• all websites and the usgn are hosted on a 30 euro / month virtual server with linux. a dual core processor with a few gb ram and 3 tb traffic. don't ask about details I don't want to look it up.
the websites were hosted on a simple webspace (no vps) for 7-8 euro before but this was to weak to handle the growing number of requests + the hard drive crashed and we lost much data so I changed to the vps with daily full backups and MOAR POWER

• nobody besides me becomes admin in near future.
