I'm porting the content from there What a coincidence.

@topic
Also a question, are weapon articles and stuff like that allowed in the wiki? Or it shouldn't describe details of gameplay?

One could also just make subpages for German page versions on one single wiki (ex. Main_Page/de) not to keep two wikis. Just an idea.

I think that isn't needed. For in-depth information you already have my CS2D Wiki. This one should be generalist.

Or make the 2 wiki en.wiki.unrealsoftware.de and de.wiki.unrealsoftware.de (instead of wiki-en and wiki-de) so we could also interlinks, like in Wikipedia and Wikia.
For example, if we added [[de:Counter-Strike 2D]] to the English wiki it would add an interlink (same article in different language) for the German wiki and vice-versa ([[en:Counter-Strike 2D]] on the German wiki).

That would be even better. To add even more to that, on the left sidebar there should be the Languages section like in Wikipedia.

Yes! Now that would be cool... and useful.
*high-fives back*

If you use something from this, please DO NOT copy the Map types site, because its just utterly wrong.

EDIT:
Oh you already did that, and corrected it.
Nevermind then.

yeah, I already advised DC to apply something which would allow to switch language but (as he said himself) he doesnt know too much about the struture of a wiki so he didnt manage to do this.

I dont know how easy/difficult it would be to change the urls of all the pages now afterwards they have been created but it would be cool if the language switch would be enabled by this.

also, as you can see in the Cs2D section, there is already a (small) list of commands.
the problem now is that there might be commands which can also be used in other games (CC or S2).
therefore a system should be applied to make clear to which game a command-page belongs:
Quote
CS2D Console Commands (Script)
     CS2D Command: Alias
     CS2D Command: Bind
     CS2D Command: Echo
     CS2D Command: Exec
     CS2D Command: Include
     CS2D Command: Unbindall
CS2D Console Commands (Control)
     CS2D Command: Ak47
     CS2D Command: Attack
     CS2D Command: Attack2
     CS2D Command: Bind
     CS2D Command: Unbindall

here the 2 big topics stand for the categories in which the subpages can be found.
the lines which are tabbed one place to the right stand for the titles of these subpages where the command then is described and an example is shown.

I believe I found a way to translate pages into a few languages and then have a thingy to switch page language. But for that I need DC to install this extension:

1
2
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions
I had to put it in code tag because otherwise the link was broken by the :P smiley

There is an installation manual on that page. Please DC, pretty please, install it. I'll have a language switching system after you do that in virtually no time - you won't have to keep two wikis.

That's not a language extension, it just adds a couple of parser functions crucial for the languages box - doesn't even change the interface. God, even though you're a great person you're a bit ignorant. But, well, your choice.

EDIT: I can't even make simple pretty boxes without it! Come on! Language switching isn't its only use.

Thank you very much. I know some things about wiki, so please just believe me when I tell you it's better to have it installed and that it won't fuck everything up.

@EngiN33R:
do I have to put [[en:Stranded II]] and [de:Stranded II]] into both articles or is it also possible to write it into one article so that there is a one-way-connection?

I've tried to write [[en:Stranded II]] into the german article but it appears as a normal internal link in the german wiki, even though I tried it with the new www.de.wiki.unrealsoftware.de url DC established.

I don't want german and english articles to be in the english wiki. there are 2 separate wikis for that. you can link between them (I don't know how) but don't put German contents in the English wiki or vice versa.

wait.. is this translation auto generated? because it's totally useless. that's no correct German. not understandable.

btw: wtf? does this extension allow to use HTML/CSS in wiki pages or is this wiki standard? allowing plain HTML is very risky in my eyes

Hmmm, I've finished the Delete and Unsigned templates.
And btw, idk if you're getting this 'interwiki' thing.
It's like this:
at the right of the page there's a languages box in both english. at the German wiki someone adds [[en:Counter-Strike 2D]] on the German cs2d page, and in that language box there will be a link for the English article (just a link) and vice versa.

And also, admins please check this: http://wiki-en.unrealsoftware.de/index.php/Category_talk:Candidates_for_deletion
