The case for favorite environments.

I know there are going to be lots of images. Will this at all affect the gameplay because of lag?

I see.

Well, if there will be 32 players on the server then there will be 32 player-bound images and a few static ones (a dozen or a bit more) - they won't lag the mod THAT much in my opinion.

I'll deduct from your post that you want to know if it's finished yet and if not is it going to take much longer. Well, the first - not yet, and second - it's done when it's done, but I do hope it won't take much longer.

Well I certainly am planning to add the former, but how do you imagine the latter in space?

I haven't given up on the mod, there were however some personal affairs to be dealt with over here. I am resuming work on it. The new release date is 11.11.11. Just be patient for a little longer. You know, generating a minimap to each player would hog traffic. I may implement a feature where an arrow on the player's screen shows the direction the player party's mothership is. I'm not sure though.

My list of ideas for mod :

Neutron Tank - Burns out & Speeds up the ship for a short time period

Radio-Cargo - A Radioactive Cargobay to keep gas grenades in the ship

Nightvision Lights - Simple NV for all ships

Portal Technology - Very Rare & Can be used only outside of space - Cant be used in Trading Lanes & Cant be traded
Cannot work while in Hypergate - You have to have a very high reputation for that

By the way - I can help with final touches to the map - I have some great sprites for bases or space stations etc.
