Alright, guys, here it goes.
My PC first had Vista installed and I had no problem playing games such as WoW and such. Then I moved to Ubuntu, and it started to turn off after ~2-5 mins after starting some heavy game. The PC couldn't turn on, only if I took out the battery (it's a laptop). Today, I installed Windows 7, and after turning on WoW and playing for 2 mins, it turned off again. I tried playing without a battery, but still with no result.
If anyone could please help me, I am all ears.

Watch for viruses.

Make it clean.

That temperatures it has?
See if that is the normal CPU temp.

Maybe it's getting too hot , and it has autorestart.

Look if all the components are in.

Maybe it can be computer overheat.I had that too.You need
to clean your PC inside, because it can be full of dust.If you cant clean read this:
http://www.computertooslow.com/overheating-computer.asp

If it isnt overheat maybe you need to update your drivers.

Ehem.
It's a laptop.
Once I open it up my warranty is void. Plus, I don't want to open up a laptop, who would?
And how to turn off that auto-restart function?

I think I will have to.
Elevating the laptop seems to resolve this issue...

I'm not sure if this was covered, but don't put your laptop on surfaces such as cloth. It blocks the fans. Keep it on a hard desk or random book if you have to.

Yeah overheating most likely causes the shutdowns (at least that's the problem with my laptop, even though I placed it on a flat metal table). Ubuntu (openGL) might have more trouble with graphics than Windows (DirectX) and therefore uses more resources. This is just a wild guess though.

Each new version of Windows has higher system requirements and will use more resources, and is thus more likely to cause overheating on the same computer. You might also want to try to shut down all unnecessary services (quite a lot on windows) to minimize 'stationary' resource usage.

Picias, formatting should not have been necessary in your case (though it might have been the easiest solution for you). Apparently, there was/were a/some program(s) causing your pc to shut down. Locating and repairing/removing them should be enough. But if you don't have too many important files or a remote hard drive, a complete reset is a good choice.

Note that I am merely guessing here, I could very well be wrong with everything I say.

Could be that your Laptop is over heating. If you are able to, try lowering the screen brightness a few levels, that should help it stay a little cooler a little longer. (Ex, my laptop has 7 brightness settings, and I leave it at 3, which is bright enough, and gives me about another 10 min before the fan kicks on)
Putting your laptop in a spot where it can circulate air better and not in a room which is scorching hot is a good idea (but I'm sure you already knew that.)

Another thing that could be the problem is that you could be overclocking your cpu (which playing big requirement games will do on laptops,) and it shuts the pc down when its reaching the point of it overloading. This is a very VERY bad thing to do... cause re-placing a CPU in a laptop is having to buy a new laptop.

Off Topic: Picias, please remove your first gif image in your signature. My anti virus keeps telling me that the image has attached Malware and blocks the image. I'm sure lots of people won't be pleased when their computer gets infected with the Malware that your spreading.

The last time this happened to me ( not so long ago actually, just a couple weeks ), it was due to my graphics card being so close to my CPU that it fried my motherboard ( badly ). It started turning itself off constantly and I knew that something was wrong, but I didn't open the case. Next thing i know computer just wasn't turning on.

I believe you have an over heating problem, Sunny.

Thing is, I installed Win 7 just yesterday, and the only new programs are Firefox, Skype, SppedFan, WoW, San Andreas CS2D and Gmod.

Do you use Windows Vista?

I already said, I am using Windows 7.

Yea, it's overheating. When I am not lifting it up, the GPU temperature rises 'till 104 C
I think I'll just use a vacuum cleaner

EDIT: Did the same test that made my laptop rise to 104 C, but this time I cleaned the vents with the vacuum, without opening it. Max temp is 88 C WIN!

That part was meant for Picias, who formatted his entire hard drive

So, to clean dust from his PC he formated his HD?

if its a Laptop, then I suggest you open that thing and clean it. You can do it with a brush or use an Air compressor and whipe that stuff out.

If it then still shuts down, and you Laptop is older than.... lets say 4 years. something may be damaged, that could be a options too. Beside, Laptops are expensive, and not good for gaming btw.
And they got an average life of 10 Years, after that most of them are trash.
