With the new CS2D version there now is a hotkey for toggling the grid in the editor, but it also toggles the grid when you type stuff into text fields, which - in my opinion - isn't convenient. Could that be fixed?

And it was fixed.
get this optional hotfix for the windows client now to fix it (also fixes the tab-crash bug and nofow entity problems):
