Most people have it on slow or average, it should be on fast. It creates movement lag, making people aim bad, please make it default in next version jeez DC, how hard is that? Changing it to '3'. Check out the difference, open up to CS2D's join same server.
Seriously DC, if you have it on slow or average you look sluggish, laggish.

lol.. i have DSL internet and it says Average (DSL), and thats why i won't play with fast anymore..
don't know if it makes a difference, beside the movement

Ehm... hasn't DC said over a hundred time that that function does not change anything? That it doesn't matter wether it is on slow or fast? And since I saw nothing about it in the changelog, I assume it hasn't been changed (yet), so it still makes no difference at all.

Yes it does, how don't you know you've played for awhile now. It changes the look of others to you. You move smoother, no lag with "fast" no matter what your mbps connection is. jeez.
Hey, remember that thread you previously made? http://www.unrealsoftware.de/forum_posts.php?post=216050&start=0#post216050
And do you know what DC wrote in there?

I think he knows more about it than you do

DC has written:
secret hint: this setting doesn't matter in newer releases at all. it doesn't change anything. it has not been removed yet because it will probably be re-implemented later.

You're saying that this magically makes your upload rate faster without taking more bandwidth?
yeah the setting has been completely disabled. it doesn't change anything.
you are right that it changed the uploading frequency in older versions but that's not the case anymore (it already wasn't the case in 0118 and some previous versions).
aww.. I really should remove/change that. I'll put that on my todo list.

haha, thank you DC. This really makes good players look horrible, i'v told them to change it before they magically look better and have crazy movement :p
i smile.
DC, a example
is given here.

I can foresee that this thread will only get to make DC so angry that he will remove the internet speed option ASAP so you stop whining about this.
If DC says the command does nothing at all, then he MUST be right.
CS2D isn't made from dark magic and forbidden spells so it should always behave as he intends because it's built using computing science and maths.
Based on that, the result of doing something must a rational explanation.
You're saying that changing the value of an unused CS2D command will increase your update rate (without being affected by your bandwidth) and other players will see that you lag less.
How can you explain that?

Not, he is just stubborn. That's why he has created at least two threads with the exact same question, with two identical answers. And he still doesn't want to believe he is wrong.
It doesn't make your internet speed magically faster, just changes how you look in-game nor your bandwidth or anything that measures speed, it's a useless command because i'v seen dial up connection play on "Fast" and there movement or strafe doesn't lag and looks exactly like a broadband connection. You should just remove that feature and just keep it on Fast. Everyone won't look like a lagger to each other unless there downloading a file or running multiple tabs that lag there internet connection of course making them spike up to unstable ping. Don't remove/change it, just put as a default configuration in the next CS2D that it should be on fast (No body tweaks there options except with people who have knowledge of the game)
Jeez, i'm not stubborn i'm just trying to help people out. ALSO it seems that most of the time if you fight someone who is lagging because there net speed is on "slow" or "average" 1/3 of the shots don't register, unfair advantage for them compared to someone who doesn't lag, strafes smooth, and easy to hit for most people who has good aim.

You still don't get it, do you?

NOBODY (!) laggs because his net speed setting is on slow or average. NOBODY. Do you understand now? This setting has NO SINGLE effect. You can argue about this as long as you want, it still has no effect. Why don't you accept that what DC (the guy who WROTE cs2d) says is true? You show a complete stubborn behaviour. hm?
slow -> very laggy moves
average -> laggy moves
fast -> perfect moves
thats what he means, since cs2d standard is "average" which makes the players walk a bit laggy he suggested DC to make it fast...
he isnt speaking about internet speed or anything just watch his video

Have you read all previous answers? Because TKD, Flacko, I - and most important DC have said that it does not make any difference.
We (or at least, I) understand what he tries to say - and we try to tell him that it is of no use.

I love it when you are wrong Banaan. I must treasure this moment. I'll call you a retard somewhere else because that probably isn't allowed here.
If you guys don't want to believe sugar is right than I would like to invite you to meet me ingame and you can see for yourself okay?
Multiple people have asked me to change this setting when I downloaded a new copy of cs2d or played with settings. Now here's one for you: If it doesn't change a thing, how come these players noticed it? How come I notice it? How come sugar notices it? (Talking about the previous version now)
Putting netspeed on slow will not make you lag but it will cause the player to move with tiny jumps instead of smoothly.
Stop being collectively wrong. Your making yourselves look like complete idiots with that snobbish tone of yours.
Reading that just made me angry. DC is very certain about the things he knows, or thinks he knows, and that is a good thing. But creating cs2d did not make him omniscient. Quit sucking up to him and check your facts.

Relax, relate, release.
I think it does lags when you choose slow and average because I used Hpbar lua script made by Dark Byte and the Hpbar shakes alot when i choose slow and average options. Just my opinion
