I know everyone has heard rumors about alienation, and they are all true... Alienation has been stuck in it's alpha mod for quite some time now, and hopefully some time soon in the future it'll start being worked on again, as a mod that will revolutionize the way we think of stranded 2 modifications, alienation is a modification to the game that I do not intend to give up on. I have spent weeks on it, and I got tired of banging my head against the animation problem, thats why I quite it.

However,

I decided since everyone else was making their "name"'s mod, I might as well too, and I figured it might also get me activated in modding, and maybe even be a step into getting alienation back on its feet.

So,

I present to you,

Lion_Hearted's Mod
(alpha)

I have currently made the following alterations to the game...

Spoiler >

So, questions, comments, criticism, suggestions, please post them. I could always use all of them.

This is an active modification, and there will be more additions as time goes on.

I'm currently looking for 3 beta testers that have shown some experience in game scripting and modelling...

It sounds interesting, I like the spits idea; though this sounds to me very much like a less game-changing version of massive mod or perhaps EXT.

As to the meat thing, Cooking meat does not remove its nutritional value to a great deal.

It removes a large amount of liquid mass, and while that would also make it less filling it does not make it significantly less nourishing.

The process of cooking meat does a few things: it breaks down carbohydrates, it breaks down much of the connective tissues, and it coagulates proteins (they coagulate, and are not reduced but the important parts are more concentrated). It also will kill off any nasty pathogens present in meat of course, but on an isolated island with a healthy population, eating freshly butchered meat that did not come into contact with the digestive system, from a healthy animal carries minimal risk (perhaps trichinosis, but almost all populations outside the industrial world have parasites like this).

The point is, cooking meat actually increases the amount of nutrition that it is possible to get from eating it, by making it much easier to digest. Your body is able to absorb more of what it needs, in a simpler form that it can more easily make use of.

if you wanted to get it more realistic, keep food the same, reduce water. or increase food slightly. Reduce the 1/3 chance to something rather lower, and instead of a health loss, create a script that will cause 'vomiting' for a day or two, or add the 'poisoned' status in rare cases. This would better simulate food poisoning.

Think I should modify the name so that its a sharpened stick?

I know that traditionally a spit is iron, however I plan to remove iron useing from the game, and make that much more realistic...

Exactly how, I'm not quite sure yet, but iron mining will be severely limited...

This isn't alienation, I have somewhat stopped that due to me learning two different Modeling things, only to find that I couldn't use either of them to animate anything...

Anim8tor, and Wings 3D.

I got somewhat discouraged on it, however I do have milkshape now and I just need to find the time to start working on it again...

Right now, this is just a free time project, nothing special, just my simple little proof that I know how to script...
