Hi, I'm about to create a CS map and an AS map.
I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on how to make good maps for these game types?

Thanks.

specific tips:

cs maps:
- use 4 hostages, placed in pairs of 2
- there should be at least 2 ways to reach the hostages

as maps:
- there should be at least 2 ways the VIP can choose to reach the escape zone
- these routes should have no long corridors without cover

general tips:

this is really hard to say. depends on how you use the space.
heights/widths between 50 and 150 tiles should be good values.

also load some of the existing maps with the editor and check how big they are (click "map properties" [wrench icon] after loading) - just as reference

Tip: Make T and CT equally hard. Some maps will always have 12-0 for terrorists because its so easy to cover the hostages. In such a map 2 teams will always equal if they don't make stupid mistakes.
