Another Idea:

-A Blowgun (like southamerikan or africabn natives use it) you can make it out of a Bamboostick and maybe a meele. Then you can ad Blowgundarts out of woodsticks, Poisen-Darts or Iron-Darts.

You need help with etra life, in the Extension Mod is a script if you put the script in a item you can use it to set a respawnpoint

Maybe you can use it, i dont understand the script, i also dont know if it works with the normal Stranded but i hope the script help you. But i think if you use this script you have to ask Mc Leaf (creator of this script) if you allowed to use it in your mod.

MfG DEATHSHEAD

Edit
There is a question what do you mean with
Quote
more posable random-ness (ie new sworms)

its in the description and i don't know what you want to say, because my english isn't that good

I just happened to look up the uses of Bamboo... you might find the following interesting...

====

On a more positive note, like industrial hemp, the bamboo plant has an extraordinary range of uses. Here's just a few:

baskets, bicycle frames, bird cages, blinds, boats, bridges, brushes, buckets, canoes, carts, charcoal, chopsticks, clothing, cooking utensils, diapers, fans, fences, firewood, fishing rods, food steamer, furniture, garden tools, handicrafts, hats, incense, musical instruments, paper, particle board, pens, pipes, ply ,roofing, scaffold, tableware, toilets, toothpicks, toys, umbrellas, walking sticks

.. and that's really only just scratching the surface.

Another important use for bamboo is food. The shoots are used in many Asian countries as a vegetable - sometimes eaten raw, or steamed and boiled. I can't say I'm a big fan of it, but given a choice between a bowl of bamboo shoots and a bowl of twigs, I'd certainly opt for the bamboo. China makes beer from bamboo, which I've read is quite palatable. Given that, I'm thinking it may also be useful in relation to the production of cellulosic ethanol.

===

I'm not saying you should do everything in there... but I think it would be interesting to put in several buildings made out of bamboo, perhaps several objects, bamboo can also be made into a bow, or the bark of bamboo and perhaps several more parts of it can be made into cord, which is alot more... probable then cotten cord... Bamboo can be cooked and so forth and many diffrent other things...

I might be willing to make the models and perhaps if I can, script some of it for you. But your going to have to tell me exactly how you want the models done, and exactly what you want the item or object to do... and I am still learning how to animate so I cannot help you make units.

Do you want high quality models or just simple models... the higher the quality the better they will be looking... but of course the longer and harder they will be for me...

Edit:

http://www.mediafire.com/?1i5jxtuhmwj

I already made a low poly and low quality model for your basket... I used a texture from the stranded 2 original files, (thank you DC for your help. :))

However I also included the texture cause in the process of exporting the file to 3ds my modeller changed the name and extension of the texture... it was a bmp, I used an old replacing tactic to make sure it was JPG, however the model still thinks its a bmp so you will have to use that texture to use the model...

The texture, model, and icon are all in the download... there is also a read me for a couple instructions to use the model...

However, unless I'm badly mistaken, you cannot claim this model as your own cause you added it to your game... I hold the copyright on the model, while you hold the copyright on the scripting you put on the model. I give permission for everybody to use the model, even though you must give permission yourself for people to use the scripts that you place in the model. So if you do not wish for any part of your mod to be copied, then please forgive my intrusion into your business, as all my models are free for use... except those of Alienation, those I hold the copyright on...

But if you like that model I'll be willing to model more for you, just tell me if you like it.

Anyway, about darts, why not bolts? They is already there, so wooden bolt and iron bolt will be the perfect ammo for the blowgun. And maybe some poison darts/bolts ...

Ok... I was getting ready to make your bird cage... and I was almost done but then I wondered if you want just a cage... or do you want it with something that would make it obvious to be hung on... what do you want it to look like... what kind of texture should I use... wood or bamboo or what...

Well... what do you want.

I talked to someone who lived in new guinea... which is a stone age culture... and he told me that they use bamboo for many things...

here is what I can remember

A couple characteristics of bamboo...

When its young, is very soft, and tasty if cooked.
When it grows larger, it is very stiff, and hard, and sharp.
When its submerged in water for a while, the bamboo as long as its not too large, can become as flexible as a cord, and as strong as a chain.

So... some things he told me...

They use bamboo for their shelters, as they build their shelters out of Bamboo,

They take a big bamboo (moreless 5 inches wide) and they cut it so that there is a stopper at the bottem, and then they fill the bamboo with water, and then plug the top of it with leaves. They also make wine and diffrent other beverages out of these containers...

They take bamboo, and cut it so that you have sharp edges, then they use it as a knife, (and from what he said, its almost as good as your kitchen butcher knife...)

They take bamboo and they make spears out if it, they also make spear heads by fashioning bamboo to a sharp point, from what he told me those spears are quite lethel.

They make arrows out of bamboo and the arrow heads are also made out of bamboo, the same for the arrow heads as the spear heads, fashioned to a sharp point.

They make cord out of bamboo, by taking bamboo that is not very big, (inch wide) and soaking it, then when its flexible they use it in anything from traps to their bow cords.

They make bows out of bamboo, by getting a decently thick piece of bamboo, soaking it for only a short time, then attacking a string to it, (the string is almost always made out of bamboo)

Literally there is thousands of things you can do with bamboo, I talk to him regularly and I could probably get even more ideas out of him...

By the way, almost all of the old knives were fashioned out of flint, as flint is a substance that doesn't lose its strength very fast. Those knives were quite sharp by the way.

He also told me that they used bones in New Guinea for arrow heads, and spear heads, they used bones in New Guinea for needles and many other uses.

I mainly capitallized on asking him questions about bamboo... but here are some ideas....

if you wish me to make the models for any of these items then please tell me...
However I only know how to make 3ds files... you might be able to pass it by another person if they wish to and they could transfer it to a b3d...

off topic: wow, thats a long post of use of bamboo.

idea
1. stone can be used to make a stone carver, just smash the stone with hammer.

2.bone can also become a bone bottle which is same as a plain bottle, just carve the bone using stone carver and hammer.but despite its stink, you need to clean it using water, glad to help.

@ Lion_Hearted:
to convert a model from one file-type to another try using Biturn, it is pretty good.
I think the only problem with it was that it doesnt keep animations if the model is a unit...

and btw which program do you use for modelling?

Lion_Hearted, if you need me to convert items into B3D, just send me a message and a link. I'll convert them and send them back. As long as it's an item, it will literally take seconds to convert. I do my best to help modellers out.

I'm currently constructing a bamboo bird cage. I liked the suggestion, so I'm working on it now. Here's a screenie of what I have so far. (Note: I'm spending a lot of time on getting the textures right.)

IMG:https://img202.imageshack.us/img202/4526/62478961.jpg

This is just the bottom frame with some of the bamboo creating the floor. This took me much longer because I had to manually resize all of the objects UVW to make sure it looked like the bamboo people expect, it should only take a few minutes to complete the floor. Then, I'll begin working on the outer struts. However, Bamboo cages usually have weaving tying the bamboo together, but if I put in that much detail, the model will be too high in poly count, so I'll give it a "socket and slot" style design.
