this guide is for new players , not veterans , so it might not be too intresting for vets
anyways , this guide is for random islands

Stranded II Survival Guide

So , you downloaded Stranded II , but just go "what" when you don't know how to play it and take a entire day looking through the fourms and still havn't found out how to play , this guide fimilises players for survival

Materials

The Best way to start , is to get materials ASAP , branches(obtained by hitting the large trees) , Stones(obtained by hitting the large stones) and vine(obtained by randomly hitting trees , or hitting the trees with green ropes on it) are important , well , maybe not vine , but branches and stones , are , infact , used for most tools and weapons , you will barely make crap if you play in a place with no trees or stones

Food

by now you should notice that your hunger bar and thirst bar is high , if it reaches maximum , you will get your health drained , so , how do you get food?

Hunting

this is the most common way to get food , you just simpily hit a animal until it dies , but it does have it drawbacks :

monkeys are fast , you will need a ranged weapon or two to kill those fast things

Lions and Raptors are both dangerous and will require ranged weapon or a dangerous meelee weapon , simpily running right up to it and hitting it with your bare fist will result in ultimate death(you will only get Lions and raptors on hard and normal diffucuties tho)

Fishing

fishing is the hardest way to get food when starting out , but once you reach a high level in it , you are swimming in fishes , worms and bug parts will help you while you are fishing by giving a bonus to the fishing roll

Planting

the easiest way to get food , just get the seed , grab it , and smash it into the ground with E , but it takes several days or even weeks to make it grow into a fully developed plant , by the time it does , you are aready dead , so it is best to use this with other food-gathering Methods

water might be simple , if you see a rock with bubbles popipng out of it , it means it has a unlimited supply of water and can get you alive eternally , other ways , like wine and juices , have no extra effect , but , if you happen to have 3 or 4 wines , drink it all down in one go , it does something ...... intresting , the surrounding water is totally salty , and will make your thirst bar raise then lower

Tools

Tools Play an important part in the game , it help you survive even longer , so , what tools? here are the common ones :
Hammer(branch + stone) : perhaps the most important tool , it builds things that are essantal to your survival , like shelters , walls , doors , campfires , etc , etc
Fishing Rod(?) : you need it for fishing , you can't fish with bare hands , can ya?
Nets(?) : needed to catch small animals....... many people make Nets Commonly , but i don't really understand why
Torch(Branches + ?) : this thing helps you see at night , and can sets things on fire , which damages them even out of sight
Other more useful tools are avalible , but i am not spoiling them , find them out yourself

Weapons

so , you want to kill something quickly , Weapons Help , But you can't kill them instantly(unless its a small creature)
this section shows the common weapons(note , ranged weapons are ranged , meelee weapons just increase your damage) :
Ranged
Spears(branch + stone) : the bread and butter of the weapon selection , its easy to make , yet decent at combat , its a ranged weapon , tho
slingshots(branch + vine) : uses pebbles , teeth , and some other small objects to attack over a ranged distance , its a ranged weapon
Bows : there are three styles , Bows are the most commonest ranged weapon out there , and it has several types of arrows at its disposal , making it a combat machine after you master it and even a monster for newbies
Arbalest(?) : the most material needy weapon , and most to be feared , were the airblest , with deadly accuracy , non-gravity affecting and high damage , theres no denying this is the best weapon in the game

Melee
Matchet(?) : the Matchet is one of the two only weapons that serve as a effective melee weapon and a tool , it does decent damage in melee , yet extracts bark easily
Axe : the second of the only two weapons that serve as weapon/tool , this weapon can take away a chunk of the enemies health , and yet serve as a effective woodcutting tool
Swords : there are three types , each increasing damage , the Sword is effective in close range

Building

building is quite easy , but require several trips to trees/rocks/iron pathes/whathaveyou , and it also needs clicking of the right mouse button many times , the important buildings are : a shelter , fireplace , storages(you can't just leave stuff about the place)and a herb patch , the others are optional , but also helps you survive

Advanced Stuff :

Buildings
Shelter : nothing useful really , except to not have damages while sleeping or a place where Lions/Raptors can't reach(stand performs the same duty as treehouse)
fireplace : a place where you can cook stuff and make torches once you have fire on it
Storage : for putting stuff , note that it has a weigh limit
Fences : for keeping things out , you will need several of them
Well : buildable unlimited water source , you need one of those if you need a Base , or your home is far from a unlimited water source
bownet : gives you a fish or seaweed every day
Stance : puts you in a prosition that dangerous animals can't reach you , but it doesn't do anything else
Herb Patch : gives herbs like healing herbs and bitter roots
Trap : almost like bownets , but instead catches you animals , there is a possiblity of a poisonous scorpion being caught
Kiwi breeding : spawns a kiwi every few days , its pretty insufficent without any hunting/planting/fishing/whathaveyou
Garden : spawns Butterflies everyday , they reduce your weight
Defence Tower : a must if you are going to play in a normal or hard island , they will shoot any incoming hostile animal , if they miss , a arrow will be on the ground , where it missed , just grab the crap
monkey school : unlocked when you tame a monkey , allows you to make carrier monkeys that follow you , cool , eh?
Dugout or Sailraft : allows you go out into the ocean without worrying about drowning or sharks , the Sailraft can carry stuff , but costs more resources to build

Wounds
as you fight hostile animals , you will notice a blood drop icon or a bone-broken like icon or a green water drop , well , they are not good , they are major wounds that will make you lose health whereever you go , curing them isn't easy , well , maybe not for the factures :
factures : easy to cure , but you will have to be quick and factures slow you down , a vine + stick can make that facture go away
bleeding : this is notified using a blood drop icon near your bars , it will make you lose health too , the only ways to cure that is to use a bandage or drink a health potion , using blueblossoms work too

Iron Working
all iron works require the hammer , and the iron can be turned into a iron bar , which is to make helpful tools , iron bars can be turned into iron bolts for the...... Arbalest

Protips :
night
DO NOT try to do dangerous stuff at night , unless you have expriences and are ready to become a veteran of the game
Sharks
Don't go into the ocean if you are playing normal/hard , as there are sharks that will bite your face off as you go into the ocean
Fishing Spots
they are marked by Plusing Waves in the water that happen in circles

Other Objects :
Gold nugget : I Don't know what to do with this , just shoot it using the slingshot
(Building)Torch : They are like fireplaces , except they can't cook , don't even bother
Crystal : Throw it away , it doesn't do anything

Random Events

Random Events are Rare(it used to be common) , totally unexpected events that can harm things , the random events are as followed :

Building on Fire
a building destroyer event , it can happen anytime , anywere , the Random event is marked by a "Feur! Feur! ein Gebäude steht in Flammen!", which translates to "Fire! Fire! A Building is on Fire!"(its a rough estimation , i think i saw it , correct if wrong) it can be put out using 6-7 bottles of water

Locust Invasion

happens when there are 30 Crops(wheat , not the grape plants or whatever) , it will spawn Locusts on the plant that will proceed to eat it all up , you can collect the remains before the locusts eat them up, tho

Gold Nuggets are used in the best bow - a gold bow.
If your base is in an unobvious position or you often get lost, build torches nearby to shine the way.
Crystals are used to make the best melee weapon - a crystal blade (sword).
Also, when playing on medium and large maps, store all items (unless the storage is full) because you will probably be able to sell them to natives later.

old nets is powerful

nets is the most powerful tool in the game!
i'll immediately search for sheep or cottom to make a net.
for common use, you can catch insects wicth useful for fish.
what more, can help u to catch butterflies (each one weight -500) could u understand?
finally, and that was why most of us treat nets as the most powerful tool is:
use nets to hit everything without any hurts!
u will never worry about trees or grass will cut out which means u have unlimited resouce (branches, leaves, vines, bark, and so on, esp in the masive mod u can get eggs infinity).

it's just the liana/vine which deals 2 points of damage to everything which is no flesh.

And you get all the wool you need from one sheep, if it's at least the third day of them being alive.

you can just "use" ([E]) sheep, so it will give you wool.

u can take some feather in ur bag, and if u wanna fire, drop these feather onto ground (anywhere, not fireplace) and lighten then with torch, then u got fire (use' E' sth. or combine 'S' sth.)
after that, u can use E to pickup the feather, and u will find that none was lost to make a fire. at most only 1 feather may be gone.
