2. I guess the light and dark red tiles are meant to be there for misc. reasons. They are not an error.
Again, Thanks for using the unrealsoftware forums.
The coloring is big problem for me, i really don`t know where should i put little big lighten tile or should it be darker o.O
Also, what is best program for maknig tiles?
Original MSPaint is good, because you can easily change color of single square...which is hard it advanced ones..
So what program is like "MSPaint - Advanced" ?
1: you don't need a cfg file at all. it just saves the default tile configurations so you don't need to setup the properties for each map again. you should use "save as default properties" button in the editor (tile properties) to create the cfg file.
2: the red tiles are not an error they are just placeholders. they should not be used in maps because the will probably replaced with real tile graphics later.
@Jonzku777:
try www.gimp.org or www.paint.net
you can use every program which can save bmp, jpg and/or png (I recommend bmp or png for tilesets)
All is see in them is this crap: [] [] [][] [] [][][] and so on..
Is there way to easily edit the cfg-file itself without wanking with the editor?
I was wondering what format the info data was in, so I could allow users to set properties in my tileset creator. It would make things more convenient, as you could maintain the settings while rearranging the tiles and such.
Edit:
I had posted about this a while back. Thought I would come back and clarify things. The .inf files are just written in bytes as follows:
Wall: 1
Obstacle: 2
Wall w/o Shadow: 3
Obstacle w/o Shadow: 4
Floor - Soundless: 0
Floor - Dirt: 10
Floor - Snow: 11
Floor - Step: 12
Floor - Tile: 13
Floor - Water: 14
Floor - Metal: 15
Floor - Wood: 16
Deadly - Normal: 50
Deadly - Explosion: 51
Deadly - Toxic: 52
Deadly - Abyss: 53
That doesn't help ppl who want to quickly edit it with notepad, but I was able to add this to version 3 of my tileset creator. So if you want to modify the properties outside of the game/editor you can use my program.
