Unreal Software introduces a new violation- and warning system for the community.

Every user has now a list of violations and warnings in his profile (everyone can see his own list only). This list allows us to see when a user misbehaves too much so that we can ban him.

Violations and warnings are declared by admins and moderators for posts, uploads or profile data which violates the rules.

When you receive a warning you will also see it at the top if the website.

This system will help to keep the Unreal Software community tidy, useful and friendly. Harassers are not welcome here!

that's different each person. if you do 4 little spams, you will probably not get banned, but if you flame one time really hard, you'll get banned. it's not like: 3 warnings -> ban, it depends on what you did

hmm, i would be interested more in what is a reason to declare a warning? Is it a simple violation like spamming or is a more serious offense needed?

it depends and differs from case to case. so it's not possible to give general answers there.

just follow the rules and think twice before posting and you'll not have any trouble

No, just get it already: The mods decide in every single case individually. All violations are recorded for all time.

But if you only have a minor flame every 2 months or so, it won't be that bad.

I am thinking that challenging an admin, even on polite and justified grounds, constitutes a warning too?

As soon as it's flame, yes.
Second: You shouldn't challenge DC, he did SO many for us. You can't even think of the number of hours DC spent to write Stranded 2 and CS2D, he does hard work for us and you want to challenge him? That's not really fair.

Yah man, I totally agree on that front. I have great respect for DC but like any natural relationship between ANYTHING there is bound to be disturbances.

I am not talking flame, I said polite and justified. Don't worry I am not looking for trouble from the admins.

PS. Well usually...:D

And what exactly do you mean with "polite and justified" ?
You want to "challenge" DC ?
And yes, there is 1 admin, not admins..and if you are not searching for trouble, then why do you post all that sh*t, including "challenging" posts ?
DC made games by himself , that took him several years..

If it's polite and you actually give a rational argument in support of what you are arguing for then DC will usually listen to your suggestion, no matter how he handles the situation outwardly. However, the emphasis is on the "justification" and not only the "polite" part. If you don't justify your arguments or if DC can see no incentive to implement whatever it is that you're suggesting, then you're just wasting his time.

Thanks leegao, that answers my question. Mind if I quote you in the future?
