I know this is a topic that is posted all the time but I can not do anything! i have disabled my firewall, i created a server, the ip shows up but when i try to join i get the ping timeout. I have read the faq and nothing is helping me any ideas?

same problem here, and i thought it was just me, or is it?

EDIT:

I finally figured out the problem, it was mainly because i couldnt set a static IP address so im just forwarding all the ports to my dynamic IP instead, even tho i have to change the settin pretty often

If you play in Fullscreen, you can press Alt + Tab if your server is opened...Try in Windowed mode...

heres wut probly happened, you set the port forwardin for ur router on a dynamic IP so the IP changed from last night or w/e, so you need to go to start> RUN> type in CMD> type ipconfig and hit Enter> get that IP> forward it to that one instead

you have to enter the LAN IP, not the internet/WAN IP in the router settings for forwarding or virtual server. the advantage is that the LAN IP does not change (at least it should not).
LAN IPs look like e.g. 192.168.0.100. There should be a list of used LAN IPs somewhere in your router software.

btw from what lee said you have to type ipconfig/all then it should show your ip default gateway dns servers etc.
