I was wondering, what are the plants that puff gasses? I take it they are bad news, but can anything good come of them? Alternatively, how can I get rid of them ingame? Same question goes for the other yellow and red cone-ish type plants (mushrooms i think) on the edge of the island where the lions like to hang out (and swim, ha! ). They're no good either it seems, making a good job of injuring my avi. Can any good come of them and/or how can I get rid of them?

also ps, the hunting thing, mine is only down around (6) or so. Do I HAVE to kill animals with the slingshot in order to raise it, or will the scythe (and other weapons) bring up the count just well? (I find the slingshot a bit difficult to get the animals, compared to the scythe.

That must be one those "poison flowers"... They give you nothing but intoxication...
You can kill them like any other things... (maybe with a slingshot...)

I guess you mean those "bang mushrooms"... which are exploding if you're too close to them. They are only for bothering and irritating the player.

The hunting skill should rise every time you kill some creature (no matter how you do that).
So far on island 1 I have found the grapes, cacao fruit, grain and red berries. Oh and one flowering healing plant next to the spring, which I have used. (Any more of those around? And anyway to reproduce them, like grain? And other healing plants?) Are there any other fruits or plants on the 1st island I can collect? Will I be able to take them with me when I leave?

I dunno what you're talking about, it's not raining inside for me.
LinaInverse: Probably some sort of problem for certain PCs. Rain doesn't affect my hut either. Hurri04 has writtenin the original game, yes.

You can't plant cotton, so the only thing you can do is gather a little and leave some for tomorrow so it will have a chance to grow back. I would recommend 5-6 hits on every cotton plant and then leave them to heal for a bit.
